“Kosher” Pork: A Frightening (and Fake) Trend

Can pork be made kosher? According to some sources, the answer may be yes, provided that pig is created in a lab. Those of us who believe in the legitimacy of the dietary laws—whether we follow them or not—know that pork will never, under any circumstances, be considered Kosher and I personally believe that any lab created meat should never be eaten.

This Frankenstein mindset is exceptionally dangerous, just as cloning has proven to be. I believe in science and I have no problem with research and experimenting to advance humanity, particularly in the medical field. However, that doesn’t mean we should have a free-for-all without any ethics or boundaries.

God has given us a blueprint for healthy eating. If we choose to eat foods that are forbidden, the likelihood of food poisoning is much greater. Even foods that are permitted, when improperly prepared or stored can be bad (such as consuming raw milk).

GMO food, lab food, and other scary edibles do not have to replace good, old fashioned fruits, veggies, milk, and meat. We must use our common sense and not let dollars and cents dictate every decision. Of course, dietary preferences will vary for families, but the information needs to get out there about what is safe and what is not.

Would you eat meat made in a lab?

Sure, if it tasted good, why not? You worry too much about Bible rules. Go eat a ham sandwich, you will love it.

Oh, my #1 admirer is back! Actually, I was raised in a non-Kosher home and I’ve tried bacon, lobster, etc. You may find rules and the Bible to be oppressive, but I don’t, just as I don’t like the taste of pork at all. Contrary to your belief, I am a normal person, not a religious fanatic. Just because you don’t believe doesn’t mean that other folks can’t have faith.

I likely wouldnt eat lab meat. For me it would be the principle of the thing, although with cloning, there shouldnt be a problem, (same genetic materials would equal the same results or should) just if there was too much modifications at the genetic level. For years there have been non natural things happening, but lab meat is pushing it..
As you know, I am not Jewish, but I do believe if it is non kosher for you naturally, it would be non kosher no matter how it is presented or created. Pork is pork no matter how it comes about.

I think it’s perfectly fine if someone else eats differently than I do. Definitely the choice should be the individual. What I don’t like are people who want to find loopholes around the dietary laws and pretend that it doesn’t matter.
