During quarantine, one of the biggest things I struggled with was emotional eating. Between boredom and anxiety, my appetite seemed to be never-ending. I could not get enough of carbs, sugar, and anything creamy, and I was eating around the clock.
Needless to say, tons of ice cream and fettucine alfredo added some unwanted pounds. I knew that I badly needed a change. When I was offered the chance to try a new diet plan created by Joel Marion, I jumped on it! For those who may be unfamiliar with him, Joel Marion is a fitness expert and nutritionist that’s created a highly effective weight loss program that debunks popular diet myths.
Always Eat After 7 PM: The Revolutionary Rule-Breaking Diet That Lets You Enjoy Huge Dinners, Desserts, and Indulgent Snacks—While Burning Fat Overnight seems to contradict everything we’ve been taught about healthy eating. Dessert is ok? Late night munchies are fine? Wow!
It was hard to believe at first, but the author states: “Research shows that the average person’s metabolic rate is no different during sleep than during the day. In short, your metabolism doesn’t slow down at night. Nor does your body store fat at the end of the day. Whether it’s 8 am or 8 pm, you use food for energy the same way.”
This video delves deeper in to the science, and it made a lot of sense to me.
Sounds good, I know. But does it actually work? According to the author, he lost 12 pounds in the first two weeks and 46 pounds after following the plan for 16 weeks. And it’s not hard, either.
Basically, the plan is comprised of a 3-phase system:
- The 14-day Acceleration Phase to kick-start the program and see rapid results.
- The Main Phase where you’ll learn exactly which foods to eat in order to achieve your weight-loss goals.
- The Lifestyle Phase to keep the weight off for good.
Over the next month, I’ll be sharing my own experience with the diet. Hopefully, I will have some dramatic results as well. Learn more about the Always Eat After 7 PM book and how to purchase here.

I can’t wait to read about this since losing weight now were home all the time. I had not seen this book before and cant wait to read the science behind it.
Yes, please share your progress on this diet. I am more of a late afternoon and early evening eater.
interesting new diet
This is quite compelling, I’ve never heard a diet book author suggest eating this way and losing weight. I’ll have to read this one, it sounds good.
Well I look forward to seeing if this really works but I’m skeptical. Can’t wait to hear about it!
I want to check this out! My weakness is the time period after 7 pm, so this caught my attention. Being on lockdown for these months has meant I’m too near the kitchen, and it has proved too tempting. I can relate!
I usually eat after seven so I’m really glad to read this! Sounds like a worthwhile read.
Worth a try, lol
If it works this would be the perfect diet for me. I can go all day without eating but In the evening the mind turns to food. People always tell me that’s because I don’t eat much during the day but it makes no difference. Whether I eat during the day or not, I still eat in the evening
Proof we’ve been doing it right all these years! #NIGHTowlCREW
Oh this made me laugh, definite night owls!!!
This is really interesting! I really want to read this.
Very interesting concept. Thanks for sharing this post.
