The Best Freebie I had to Refuse

bbb

Have you ever been offered a freebie you’d really enjoy, but had to refuse? That’s what happened to me today when I found this message waiting in my Panera account:

“Start your day off right with a free daily bagel reward. From the sweet Cinnamon Crunch to the savory Asiago Cheese bagel and every taste in between, find your favorite through 4/30.”

A free BAGEL, every day this week, during PASSOVER? Oh my goodness, talk about a dilemma. Normally, I’d be all over it, but I want to keep up the holiday tradition and not cheat. I will admit, it is tempting…Why do I always get the worst food cravings during Passover? Uh!

Did anyone else get this reward? If so, maybe we should inform Panera about the conflict so they won’t schedule it again during Passover next year.

Anyone who’s ever raised a baby knows they’re expensive, especially diapers. Buying on sale and using coupons can be a huge help. The official diaper of experienced moms, Luvs, is offering big savings in this Sunday’s newspaper (May 1, 2016). Additionally, in partnership with Ibotta, Luvs is also offering a limited-time $5 rebate on any boxed variety of Luvs diapers, 54ct. box or larger.

Never used Ibotta? It’s so easy:

Luvs diapers are available in sizes Newborn to 6. I love their large stretch tabs that provide a secure and snug fit every time. Plus, Leak Barrier Leg Gathers and a Leakguard Core make them extra absorbent. Luvs is so sure you’ll like them, every package comes with a full Money Back Guarantee.

Super Savings Saturday – 4/23/16

cvcvr

Welcome to another edition of Super Savings Saturday!

This week was crazy-busy with preparing for Passover. I had to do a huge grocery shop, mostly for full-price items (no way around it). I did manage to find some time to coupon, though. Deals included cheap toilet paper, medicine, and shirts. The only downer? The meat sale that wasn’t.

CVS:

Scott Tube Free toilet paper, sale price $4.99. I used a $2.00 CVS mobile coupon stacked with a $1.00 manufacturer’s coupon, then submitted for a $1.00 Checkout 51 rebate. Total: $0.99!

2 Radiance Calcium vitamins, clearance price $3.87. Total: $7.74, plus $10.00 ECB!

Shaws:

$0.99/LB split chicken breast and $1.88/LB ground turkey were advertised. Even though I shopped the first morning of the sale, there wasn’t a single package to be found. (The meat dept. manager told me nothing came in on the truck.) This put a serious crimp in my weekly meal plan. We ended up eating some frozen salmon and had spaghetti 3 times to use up all the pasta before Passover. Total: Zero cash, tons of frustration!

Target:

Mossimo T-shirts were on sale 3/$24.00 which could be combined with a 50% off Cartwheel offer. While I wasn’t particularly impressed with the quality (paper-thin and extremely low-cut), the price was reasonable. I’ll be using them as sleep shirts. Total: $4.00 each.

Dulcolax Pink laxative, regular price $5.49. I used a $2.00 Target coupon stacked with a $3.00 manufacturer’s coupon and a 20% off Cartwheel. Total: Free!

ModCloth has the Perfect Gift for Mom

ModCloth

Can you believe that Mother’s Day is only 2 weeks away? Every year, I try to come up with something special. In the past, I’ve done lots of flowers and fruit baskets (always nice, but gone in a flash). I’d rather give a gift that can be enjoyed for years to come.

Because clothes are notoriously difficult to fit, accessories are much safer. Provided you know your mom’s style and color preferences, this could be perfect. I found lots of pretty things at ModCloth.

Isn’t this Won’t Subtle for Less Scarf beautiful? I love the delicate yellow and white geometric design and the sheer fabric is fabulous for year-round wear.

Another option is a purse. (Oh my, does my mother LOVE purses; she must own at least 100 and still wants more!) Pastels are her favorite and the Know a Thing or Two-Tone bag immediately reminded me of her, with the soft mint green color.

Most everything on the site is affordable (of course, I always search clearance first). New collections launch regularly and they offer plenty of classic pieces and fun trendy ones, too. Treat Mom to the best with Modcloth.
