Super Savings Saturday – 9/12/15

0910151155b

Welcome to another edition of Super Savings Saturday!

This week was full of many freebies and cheapies. I shopped at 4 stores and actually left each one of them with a purchase instead of a rain check, which is a nice change of pace.

Target:

I’d heard lots of summers clothes were on clearance, and while that was true, I didn’t find anything in my size that I wanted. Kind of a bummer, but that’s how it goes sometimes.

2 twin packs of Maybelline mascara, clearance price $2.98. I used 2 $2.00 manufacturer’s coupons. Total: $0.98 each!

2 Starbucks iced coffees, regular price $1.99. I used 2 $1.00 manufacturer’s coupons and a 40% off Cartwheel offer. Total: $0.19 each!  (No pic of these because I was so tired/thirsty, I drank both in the car before I got home. Yes, it was one of those days…)

CVS:

Hershey bar, on sale $0.99. I used a $0.75 CVS coupon from the in-store machine. Total: $0.25!

Rite Aid:

Tropical Hot Tamale, regular price $1.59. I used a free product coupon, printed from Rite Aid’s website. Total: Free!  (Such a weird flavor. I don’t like spicy, cinnamon candy, so that’s probably why.)

Shaws:

I always love to check the reduced rack here for unexpected bargains. Finding cheap pasta was awesome.

2 boxes Barilla Rigatoni, clearance price $0.50. Total: $1.00. (That’s 2 boxes for less than the regular price of one, all because the boxes are crushed.)

2 Kraft BBQ sauces, on sale $1.66. I used 2 $0.50 manufacturer’s coupons (doubled). Total: $0.66 each!

Fall Fashion Preview

a33

Receiving my copy of InStyle’s Fall Fashion issue is an annual event I treasure. I love pouring over the pages, clipping out styles I like, and laughing at the ridiculous ones I don’t. Here are my picks for the highs and lows:

Tackiest trends:

Joots – Otherwise known as “Jean Boots,” and suitable only for streetwalkers.

a88

French dot tights – Recommended by the iconic Diane Von Furstenberg, no less. Crazy bad!

a33

Super-wide leg pants – As if the oversize width doesn’t add enough pounds, they’re also high waisted and pleated

a33

Gromets – Ok if you’re into the industrial look, I guess, but not for me.

a33

Best Trends:

Suede – Gorgeous skirts and shoes made in the soft, rich material.

a33

Patent Leather – Wonderful for accessories like purses and shoes.

a33

Begonia Pink – A medium tone shade that resembles the flower.

I already have the bag featured above and I’m hoping to add a pretty pink blouse to my wardrobe, in addition anything else that catches my eye.

Will you be buying new clothes for Fall? If so, what’s on your list?

Earn School Sponsorship Cash with Pear

Get Sponsored with Pear

This post contains affiliate links and I will be compensated if you make a purchase after clicking on my links.

Labor Day is over and the kids are back to school. All schools, along with the PTA’s/PTO’s that are associated with schools, are always looking for additional money for all of their yearly projects.

Pear is currently running a regional sponsorship program with U.S. Cellular, that’s offering up to $1,000 in sponsorship dollars for K-12-aged groups. Any group, team, or club at a school can take advantage of this program. These sponsorship dollars can be used for custom apparel (shirts, shorts, bags, water bottles, etc.) at the printer of the groups choice, or for a direct cash donation (for 501c3 organizations). The best part of all? It’s free for the group and the supporters and it only takes a couple of minutes to complete all the tasks which earn you money.

Pear is also supporting Youth Soccer teams through Ritz Bits, who’s offering up to $1000 in sponsorship cash, nationwide, for all youth soccer teams (ages 6-12). The cash sponsorship can be used for equipment, custom apparel, travel expenses or any other cost that youth soccer teams incur (again, must be a 501c3 organization to receive the cash sponsorship).

This is a great way to help our schools who so desperately crave financial assistance!

$0.77 Panera Lunch

a33

Guess who finally found the $5.00 Panera reward in her dashboard? Yes, yours truly. I’ve been enjoying a ton of free coffee this month and today, I was able to also pick up lunch for less than a dollar!

The reward is good for anything at Panera and the only requirement is that you must place a rapid pick-up order. Because I love their soup, I got Cheddar Broccoli in a bread bowl. Regular price $5.29, plus $0.48 tax. After the reward was deducted, my final total was only $0.77!

I had never placed an online order at Panera before, but it was very easy and I loved not having to wait in line.
