Ok, London is too far for me to visit easily, but I still enjoyed looking at the downloadable leaflet with many historical designs. So cool! Tailoring was always a huge industry in the Jewish community and it has a special place in my heart because my great-grandfather was a tailor, originally in the Ukraine where he was born and then in Lawrence, Mass. after my family immigrated.

My favorite thing about Memorial Day? It’s the unofficial start of summer which means I get to pull my white clothes/accessories out of storage! Truthfully, this is something I look forward to all year long. (I would never trivialize the importance of the holiday and all who gave their lives for this incredible country, but I do love fashion!)

Summer Style can be tricky, so it’s best to keep it simple. For me, that means white jeans or pants, a comfy lightweight top, and sandals. Other much loved accessories include a hat and sunglasses. The only white item I avoid—like the plague!—is white shoes. They make all feet, even a teeny size 5, look enormous!

Doesn’t this outfit look polished, pretty and perfect for warm weather? Blue and white is a great color combination and turquoise is a personal favorite since it’s my birth stone.

Another trend I’m excited about is white nail polish. I’ve held off on it for the past two summers, uncertain if it was age-appropriate, but I’m going to try it anyway, even if it looks silly to some. I wouldn’t pair it with these bold rings, though—the polish is plenty on its own.

All my fashionistas will love Elle’s wrap up of the Met Gala. The annual style parade offers some very extreme looks! From the 131 outfits featured, I’d have to say Lady Gaga and Solange were the worst.

My favorite was Kate Upton. Here is an excellent example of why proper fit is so important. Along with a snazzy color and strategic yet modest cut-outs, I think she looks beautiful!

Can you believe that Mother’s Day is only 2 weeks away? Every year, I try to come up with something special. In the past, I’ve done lots of flowers and fruit baskets (always nice, but gone in a flash). I’d rather give a gift that can be enjoyed for years to come.

Because clothes are notoriously difficult to fit, accessories are much safer. Provided you know your mom’s style and color preferences, this could be perfect. I found lots of pretty things at ModCloth.

Another option is a purse. (Oh my, does my mother LOVE purses; she must own at least 100 and still wants more!) Pastels are her favorite and the Know a Thing or Two-Tone bag immediately reminded me of her, with the soft mint green color.
