Super Savings Saturday – 9/9/17

Welcome to another edition of Super Savings Saturday.

Many of you may be wondering where this series has been lately. The short answer is “on hiatus for the summer.” The long answer? Well, let’s just say that between the heat, humidity, not feeling well, doing home renovations, a vacation, and lots of activities, there was little time for couponing. Rest assured, I am back to deal shopping and if you enjoy seeing the cheapies and freebies I feature weekly, they are coming back in full force.

Shaw’s:

Every Saturday morning, they release new My Mixx digital coupons which are either free or BOGO.

Sabra organic hummus, regular price $3.99. Total: Free with coupon.

2 baby carrots, sale price $0.99 for a 1-lb bag. Total: $1.98. (Perfect snack with the hummus.)

Broccoli, sale price $0.99/lb. Total: $0.87! (I would’ve bought much more, had it been in stock.)

Yoplait Mix-Ins yogurt, regular price $1.79. Total: Free with coupon. (The flavor was good, but I think these are so overpriced normally.)

Rite Aid:

There were supposed to be a bunch of free oral care products using the digital Load2Card coupons. Of course, none of them worked. (So frustrating!) The manager was nice enough to adjust it manually, but it was a hassle.

Crest toothpaste, sale price $4.00. I used a $2.00 store coupon. Total: $2.00 plus $2.00 Plenti Points!

Oral B glide floss, sale price $4.00. I used a $1.00 store coupon. Total: $3.00 plus $2.00 Plenti Points!

Oral B toothbrush, sale price $4.00. I used a $1.00 store coupon. Total: $3.00 plus $3.00 Plenti Points!

Super Savings Saturday – 7/22/17

Welcome to another edition of Super Savings Saturday.

This week was decent for deals, but nothing incredible, mostly stuff for the kids and some things for the pantry. I skipped my normal grocery shop because we’re going out of town for a short vacation to celebrate our anniversary (mind you, we’re already 7 hours behind schedule, but that’s a whole different story! I’m trying to stay calm and just roll with the punches around here.)

Walmart:

There was a ton of kids stuff on clearance for only $2.00 each—shirts, shorts, tops, and some onesies for babies. I ended up buying 7 items. Obviously, this isn’t great quality, but summer stuff never is anyway. Total: $14.00!

2 watermelons, sale price $2.99. Total: $5.98! (The average price for a big, seedless one is usually $4.99. Not sure why these were priced so cheaply.)

Shaws:

I had two freebies available with digital MyMixx coupons and also picked up a few cheapies.

Mom to Mom jumbo diaper pack, sale price $5.99. Total: Free with coupon! (This is a store brand that I’ve never tried.)

Philadelphia bagel chips & dip, sale price $2.50. Total: Free with coupon! (A few raggedy chips and some cream cheese. Not worth the money, so I’m glad it was free.)

2 Classico pasta sauces, sale price $0.99. Total: $1.98!

4 Cheddar Chex Mix, sale price $1.00. I used 4 $0.25 manufacturer’s coupons (doubled). Total: $0.50 each!

Super Savings Saturday – 7/15/17

Welcome to another edition of Super Savings Saturday.

Rite Aid was the place to be this week for amazing deals on oral care and cookies (funny how those two are both on sale simultaneously, I know). I went shopping on Friday, in between a haircut and a Starbucks run. Because I had enough store rewards to cover everything, my entire purchase was free!

Rite Aid:

2 Colgate Total toothpastes, sale price $3.50. I stacked 2 $3.00 store coupons with 2 $0.50 manufacturer’s coupons. Total: Free!

1 Oral-B Glide floss, sale price $4.00. I used a $1.00 manufacturer’s coupon. Total: $3.00 plus $3.00 Plenti Points!

2 Crest Pro-health toothpastes, sale price $4.00. I used 2 $2.00 manufacturer’s coupons. Total: $4.00 plus $6.00 Plenti Points!

1 Oral-B toothbrush, sale price $4.00. I used a $1.00 manufacturer’s coupon. Total: $3.00 plus $3.00 Plenti Points!

1 Tummy Zen heartburn relief, sale price $5.00. I used a $2.50 manufacturer’s coupon. Total: $2.50 plus $2.50 Plenti Points! (This is a new product and I’m curious to see if it can help my man. He has the world’s worst heartburn on a daily basis and has tried pretty much everything.)

2 Enjoy Life Cookies, sale price $3.29. I used 2 $3.00 manufacturer’s coupons. Total: $0.29 each with a $1.00 Checkout 51 Rebate! (The Chocolate Chip variety was pretty tasty, but I doubt that I’d pay full price.)

Overall, it was a great shopping trip, but I did have an issue with digital coupons. Rite Aid calls them “Load to Card,” and 100 out of 100 times, they malfunction. Because everything was free after points, I didn’t stress out, but it’s frustrating regardless.
