Super Savings Saturday – 10/29/16

Welcome to another edition of Super Savings Saturday!

I don’t know about you guys, but October wiped me out completely! High holidays, Sukkot, Simchat Torah, preparing for Halloween, plus all the daily grind stuff…gosh, it’s exhausting! Even so, I did manage to carve out a few minutes for shopping.

Rite Aid:

The coupon blogs were raving about clearance baby formula from Earth’s Best that only cost $2.49 after coupons. I printed the coupons but didn’t use them. My store doesn’t even carry this brand, let alone have any deals!

Local produce store:

I went in for apples advertised at $0.87/LB. They looked absolutely awful, so I left with Anjou pears instead. They were $0.99/LB. Total: $5.38.

CVS:

2 Speed Stick Gear deodorants, sale price $4.00. I used a BOGO manufacturer’s coupon stacked with a $1.00/2 store coupon. Total: $3.00 plus $2.00 ECBs!

2 Maybelline Twin Brow pencils, regular price $4.79. I used 2 $1.00 manufacturer’s coupons stacked with a $3.00/2 store coupon. Total: $4.58 plus $5.00 ECBs!

2 Colgate MaxWhite toothpastes, sale price $2.99. I used 2 $1.00 manufacturer’s coupons stacked with a $2.00/2 store coupon. Total: $1.98 plus $4.00 ECBs! (Do I need more Colgate? NO, but I’m trying to build up as many bucks as possible for Black Friday!)

Welcome to another edition of Super Savings Saturday!

This week was full of many good deals including an unexpected meat clearance. (I always check the mark-down bin whenever I shop. It’s hit or miss, but worth a look.) Target was a bonanza and the drugstore sales were so bad that I skipped them entirely.

Shaws:

No picture of these because I put everything in the oven before I remembered… After it was cooked, I shredded and bagged the meat. The steak will be turned into a salad, the drumsticks were for dinner, and the whole chicken will be for a soup and a stir-fry.

1 Perdue whole chicken, clearance price $0.49/lb. Total: $2.91!

1 Perdue drumsticks, clearance price $0.39/lb. Total: $1.69!

1 Sirloin steak, $5.89/lb sale price plus $3.00 store coupon. Total: $3.62!

First Coupon App Available in Spanish

Checkout 51

Checkout 51 has just launched the first coupon app in Spanish. This is great news for those who want to save money but aren’t fluent in English. I know I have a few bilingual readers from Florida, Texas, Mexico, and Puerto Rico, so this info will be helpful for them and some others as well.

I have blogged many times before about my love for Checkout 51. With new offers updated every Thursday, I’m able to save on items I regularly buy anyway like diapers, milk, eggs, cereal, etc. Since I started using it, I have gotten free fruits weekly.

Download the app and start saving, in which ever language you prefer.

Welcome to another edition of Super Savings Saturday!

I went to a bunch of stores this week and found lots of freebies and cheapies. Normally, holidays weeks are too busy to shop, but I really needed to get out of the house and take some time alone to calm down. I did all of my couponing late at night when the stores were practically empty. Very relaxing and rejuvenating!

CVS:

Physician’s Formula stick concealer, regular price $7.49. I used a $4.00 store coupon plus $3.00 ECB’s. Total: $0.49 plus $6.00 ECB’s! (I’ve actually wanted to experiment with yellow shade for under-eye circles, so this deal was perfect.)

Local produce store:

1 mango, sale price $0.39. I earned a $0.25 Checkout 51 rebate, making it only $0.14!

Walmart:

4 Kraft string cheese packs, regular price $1.00. I used 4 $1.00 manufacturer’s coupons. Total: Free! (Will be used for lunches and snacks.)

Target:

Enjoy Life Snickerdoodles, regular price $3.99. I stacked a $1.00 manufacturer’s coupon with a 25% off Cartwheel offer. Total: $1.99 plus a $1.50 Checkout 51 rebate!
