Super Savings Saturday – 10/08/16

cc

Welcome to another edition of Super Savings Saturday!

It was a slow week. I didn’t mind one bit because I’m still recovering from the holiday and needed a break badly. On Friday, I enjoyed a free iced coffee, courtesy of Cumberland Farms (chain convenience store here in New England). This promo is good for the entire month of October. I also picked up these goodies:

Sally Beauty:

Free black headband with $5.00 mobile coupon. (Does anyone else think this store has the worst chemical smell?! Oh my, I had to leave here in a hurry.)

CVS:

Biotrue contacts solution, sale price $7.99. I stacked a $3.00 manufacturer’s coupon with a $3.00 store coupon. Total: $1.99 plus $2.00 ECBs!

2 Bai drinks, sale price $2.00. Total: $4.00 plus $4.00 ECBs! (Only bought because they were free after rebate and wouldn’t buy again due to the odd taste.)

Other items on my list were Nexium antacid and Kit Kat bars. My CVS was out of both.

Shaw’s:

3 dozen organic, cage free egg dozens, marked down to $0.99 each because they were expiring in a day. I scrambled all of them at once. We ate half as a “Breakfast for Dinner” meal and I made the remainder into burritos for the freezer.

Super Savings Saturday – 10/01/16

Welcome to another edition of Super Savings Saturday!

It’s the first day of October and almost Rosh Hashanah (Goodbye Summer, Hello Fall…) This week I had a lot of holiday cleaning, cooking, and general prep that took up most of my time. I did manage to visit one grocery store and one drugstore for a few deals and necessities. I’m happy to report that because I planned ahead, the holiday stress should be kept to an absolute minimum. Now I can party like it’s 5777 (Yes, that line is so corny, but it’s also hilarious).

Shaw’s:

Split chicken breast, rain check price $0.99/lb. Total: $21.08! (This is my stock up price for bone-in chicken. It sure wasn’t fun hauling over 20 lbs home, portioning it out, pouring in marinades, and then stashing it in the freezer. What will be nice, however, is having tons of cheap protein on-hand.)

Gala apples, sale price $0.77/lb. Total: $11.55! (These were super cheap. The only catch was that they’re sold by the tote so a couple pieces were yucky. At this price, I don’t mind too much. I bought a bunch for snacks and baking. I’m trying a new cake recipe for Rosh Hashanah. If it’s any good, I’ll share.)

Everyday Essentials paper plates. Total: $1.00! (Found on the reduced rack because the package was ripped. Nothing wrong with the contents and 1/5 of the normal price.)

Rite Aid:

Everything was free after rebate. I was most excited about the foot inserts.

2 Oral-B toothbrushes, sale price $3.00. I used a $2.00/2 manufacturer’s coupon. Total: Total: $4.00 plus $4.00 Plenti Points!

Tresemme Anti-Breakage shampoo and Anti-Breakage Tresemme conditioner, sale price $4.00. I used a $5.00/2 manufacturer’s coupon. Total: $3.00 plus $3.00 Plenti Points!

Amope Gel Activ Insoles, sale price $9.99. Total: Free after mail-in rebate for $9.99!

Suave Professionals Gold Shampoo and Suave Professionals Gold Conditioner, sale price $3.00. I used a $3.00/2 manufacturer’s coupon. Total: $3.00 plus $4.00 Plenti Points!
