Super Savings Saturday – 8/13/16

Welcome to another edition of Super Savings Saturday!

This week I only had time to shop one store, but I made it count. I found free medicine, hair care, cheap light bulbs and snacks.

Rite Aid:

2 night light bulbs, regular price $3.49 plus BOGO. Total: $3.49 plus $3.00 Plenti Points, making them $0.25 each after rewards.

2 AZO Urinary Pain Relief tabs, regular price $8.59. I used 2 $3.00 manufacturer’s coupons. Total: $11.18 plus $11.00 Plenti Points. (This deal overlapped with 3 promos: 700 points, 200 points, and 200 points. As you can see only 1 was tagged, but it worked fine.)

Most exciting of all was hitting the motherlode on hair care!

Transaction #1:

8 Herbal Essence stylers, sale price $3.00. I used 2 $4.00/2 manufacturer’s coupons. Total: $8.00.

Transaction #2:

2 Herbal Essence stylers, sale price $3.00. I used a $4.00/2 manufacturer’s coupon. Total: $2.00 plus $10.00 Plenti Points for the combined transactions!

I think it’s safe to assume that I’m stocked on mousse, gel and hair spray for years!

lc

10 Lays chips, regular price $1.99 plus BOGO. Total: $10.00. (Is $1.00 each a great price for chips? Not really, but it was a special request from my man. Since I used points, it was free, and he will pay full price at a convenience store if I don’t supply the snacks. Sometimes you have to just roll with it!)

Free Fun at the Mall

thZTCSWROY

A visit to the mall can have a high cost, both in dollars and time. It’s not uncommon for me to walk around, browsing, and discover that 4 hours have passed! (What can I say, I just love to look…) While I enjoy window shopping, I don’t buy often, due to the overpriced stuff. What I try to do, however, is wait for extremely good deals. I had a stack of coupons I’ve been saving up; instead of making multiple time-sucking trips, I used them all in one day. Take a look at all the freebie fun:

Yankee Candle – $10.00 coupon, good on any purchase. I bought a Dreamy Summer Nights small jar candle for $10.49. After the coupon it was only $0.49! The vanilla scent, like everything else in the store, is heavenly.

Victoria’s Secret – I used an Angel Rewards coupon, good for a free pair of panties with any purchase. I bought a clearance VS lip gloss for $1.00 and saved $14.50 on the panties.

GNC – I used a coupon good for a free Quest Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Protein Bar. The taste was not great, but the price was right.

Origins – Free sample of hand cream. (They are very generous with samples and offered to let me try a mini shampoo/conditioner as well.)

I also picked up two additional freebies not in the mall, but on the same street so I’m including those, too.

Walgreens – I used a coupon for a free sample of CeraVe foaming facial cleanser. (Extremely gentle product and would be good for anyone with sensitive skin.)

Baskin-Robbins – Free regular scoop of ice cream, for registering and downloading the app. So nice to have a cold chocolate chip treat on an insanely hot afternoon.

For less than $2.00, I shopped til I dropped, had a fabulous time, and returned with lots of goodies. Not a bad day, huh?

Super Savings Saturday – 7/30/16

Welcome to another edition of Super Savings Saturday!

Can you believe July is almost over? It seems like I blinked and the whole summer disappeared. I love the sunshine, but I am so ready for the end of 90-degree heat. I’m praying for a cool and calm August.

This week was very light on shopping. While I didn’t come home with tons of stuff, I did find cheap tissues, free sport drinks and free office supplies.

CVS:

2 Gatorade, sale price $1.00. Total: $2.00 plus $2.00 ECB’s!

3 Puffs tissues, sale price $1.00. I used 3 $0.50 manufacturer’s coupons. Total: $1.50 plus $1.00 ECB’s!

I was also looking for Scope, but my store had none left. Since there’s plenty of mouthwash in my stockpile, I didn’t even bother to ask for a rain check.

Rite Aid:

Because I knew the free writing supplies would be popular, I shopped early Sunday morning. I only wanted 2 of each and was lucky enough to find what I needed before the shelf was cleared.

2 Pilot Frixion pens, sale price $1.99. I used 2 $1.00 manufacturer’s coupons. Total: $1.98 plus $2.00 Plenti Points!

2 Bic Wite Out, sale price $1.00. I used 2 $1.00 manufacturer’s coupons. Total: Free!

I had planned a second shopping trip later in the week, but due to my Pathfinder needing some repairs, I wasn’t able to shop again. I’ve been stuck at home for 3 days and counting. Hopefully, it’ll be fixed soon, but we all know how car repairs can drag on and on! Just an annoying but common part of life, right? I’m trying not to stress over what I can’t control. Easier said than done…

How was your week? Did you find any deals?
