Super Savings Saturday – 7/23/16

Welcome to another edition of Super Savings Saturday!

This week, I was focused on end-of-summer clothing sales. Originally, I had intended to shop Target and use a 20% off Cartwheel offer until I heard about a huge sale at Walmart and went there instead. I also picked up a bunch of freebies at Rite Aid.

Walmart:

I hate shopping at Walmart with a passion, but this deal was worth it! There were two huge tables of $1.00 clearance Kids’ clothes for boys and girls. Are these great quality? No. Are they good for a summer of playing outside, beach, and vacation? Oh yeah! I bought a bunch. Whatever we don’t use, I’ll save for next year or donate.

20 pieces of clothing (12 tops, 8 bottoms). Total: $20.00!

My store still has plenty left and I’ve heard it’s nationwide, so definitely check if you’ll be at The Mart anytime soon.

Rite Aid:

2 Black Forest gummy worms, sale price $1.00. Total: $2.00 plus $2.00 Plenti Points! (I laughed seeing these marketed as organic. All sugar, even if it’s organic, is not a health food.)

3 Big Win dried apricots and 1 Big Win dried bananas, regular price $1.00. Total: $4.00 plus $4.00 Plenti Points!

1 Zantac Duo Fusion, sale price $8.99. I used a $5.00 manufacturer’s coupon. Total: $3.99 plus $2.00 and $4.00 Plenti Points, then submitted for a Try Me Free Rebate!

3 L’OrĂ©al Cleansing Balms, clearance price $2.99. I used 3 $3.00 manufacturer’s coupons. Total: Free!

Welcome to another edition of Super Savings Saturday!

This week was a lot of fun. I shopped my usual drug and grocery stores and went to the mall for the first time in months. Surprisingly, everything I wanted was in stock, none of the coupons beeped, and the lines were short. Don’t you just love it when the stars align?

Victoria’s Secret:

I received a $15.00 coupon, good for any non-clearance purchase, for being an Angel cardholder. My original plan was to use it for a pair of panties, but switched to perfume since it was on sale.

2 Angel Fragrance Mists, regular price $15.00 and BOGO. Total: Free! (These smell wonderful.)

The Body Shop:

Across from VS, I hadn’t planned to stop in. I was lured by free skincare samples, from the in-store event. I received a cleanser and a hand cream.

Market Basket:

4 bunches of basil, on the clearance rack for $0.99 each. Total: $3.96!

CVS:

2 Scope mouthwashes, regular price $3.99. I used 2 $1.50 manufacturer’s coupons stacked with a $2.00 store coupon. Total: $2.98, plus $6.00 ECB’s!

Physician’s Formula Organic mascara, regular price $10.49. I used a $3.00 store coupon. Total: $7.49. I used my $6.00 ECB and received another for $7.00!

1 Apple Jacks cereal and 1 Fruit Loops cereal, sale price $1.99. I used 2 $1.00 manufacturer’s coupons. Total: $0.99 each! (Total junk food, but my guy insisted.)

Welcome to another edition of Super Savings Saturday!

This week was all about one-stop shopping. Between sales, coupons, price matching and rebates, I didn’t need to venture anywhere else. (I’m used to running to multiple stores, so it was a nice change of pace.)

Target:

8 Oreo Mini cups, regular price $0.90. Total: $7.20, plus a $10.00 Checkout 51 rebate, making it a moneymaker!

3 Gillette shave gels, regular price $1.99. I used 3 $2.00 manufacturer’s coupons. Total: Free!

1 Hellman’s mayo, price matched to Shaw’s ad for $2.50 and used a $1.00 manufacturer’s coupon stacked with a 50% off Cartwheel offer. Total: $0.50!

2 Back to Nature mac ‘n cheese, regular price $1.69. I used 2 $1.00 manufacturer’s coupon stacked with a 20% Cartwheel offer. Total: $0.35 each!

There were also a variety of Cartwheel coupons for apparel. I browsed Kids and Adults, but didn’t find anything. Ditto for the 70% off annual toy clearance. The prices were good, but nothing exceptional. Good thing my gift closet is full!

Welcome to another edition of Super Savings Saturday!

This week was all about nails—both polish and remover—and drinks. I had success at 2 drug stores and a hellish trip at Walgreens. Every time I consider giving Walgreens another try, I’m reminded why I quit them a while ago. I hope the merger with Rite Aid won’t ruin that, too.

CVS:

2 Revlon nail polishes, sale price $3.99. I used 2 $3.00 manufacturer’s coupons. Total: $0.99 each! (Isn’t the Pink Glaze color so pretty? It’s on my toes now and I love it.)

Just The Basics bottled water, sale price $2.22. (Only a dime per bottle is a great price for water. I try to always have drinks in the car in case I get thirsty while out.)

Rite Aid:

6 Rite Aid nail polish remover pads, $0.49 plus Buy one, Get one 50% off. Total: $2.19 plus $4.00 Plenti Points! (Notice the upside down sign. Funny, huh? I prefer non acetone products, but I bought these anyway since it was a moneymaker.)

3 Wyler’s drink mixes, regular price $1.00. I used a $1.00/3 manufacturer’s coupon. Total: $2.00 plus $2.00 Plenti Points.

Schick razors were included on my list, but the store was totally out of stock. I have lots of razors in my stock pile, so it’s not a big loss.

Walgreens:

As usual, shopping at Walgreens is a huge hassle and total waste of time. I saw a great deal about Gillette Venus products mentioned on numerous blogs. I wrote down the instructions step-by-step and followed them exactly, but it didn’t work. The paper coupons beeped; the digital coupons never came off. The cashier was nice but totally overwhelmed. She told me I could talk to the manager after he returned from lunch. Not worth it! I left empty handed.
