Super Savings Saturday – 6/13/15

Welcome to another edition of Super Savings Saturday!

This week, I shopped quite a bit and found many good deals and freebies, including an amazing price on chicken.

Rite Aid:

2 Reach toothbrushes, on sale $1.99 each. I used 2 $1.00 manufacturer’s coupons. Total: $1.98! I used Plenti points, so it was free and I earned an additional $2.00 in points.

Walmart:

3 Curad tape, regular price $0.96. I used 3 $1.00 manufacturer’s coupons. Total: Free!

Icy hot pain patch, regular price $1.48. I used a $1.00 manufacturer’s coupon, plus $0.12 overage from the Curad. Total: $0.36!

It’s rare to get out of a Walmart spending less than a dollar, so this was a fun trip!

CVS:

6 nutritional shakes, assorted flavors, on sale $1.25 each. Total: $7.50, with $7.50 in ECBs!

It’s been a loooooong time since I’ve seen a limit of 6 on anything at CVS. I love being able to buy bigger quantities, so I hope the trend continues.

Shaws:

Anytime I step into a grocery store, I hit the reduced sections first and this time, I found quite a find! Perdue chicken was BOGO, I had coupons, and it had store mark down coupons. You can’t beat that!

2 Perdue perfect portions, on sale $11.99 plus BOGO. I used a $1.00 manufacturer’s coupon and each pack had a $3.00 coupon attached. Total: $2.25 each!  (I wasn’t sure if the store would allow the mark down coupon on the free pack to go through, but it worked just fine.)

Package of rib eye steak, on sale $10.08, plus $3.00 mark down coupon. Total: $7.08!

While I love the price of the Perdue chicken, I think individually wrapped pieces are a joke. Does anyone actually cook only a single breast? I cooked the entire package at once, cut it into strips, and will be using it for lunches/dinner during the week.

Super Savings Saturday – 6/6/2015

Welcome to another edition of Super Savings Saturday!

This was a very busy week full of nothing but doctors and anxiety. On Monday, I went in for an ultrasound for one problem and then Thursday it was back to the eye doctor for yet another follow up. Sometimes I feel like I spend all of my time dealing with various health issues. Not fun! Getting to coupon, however, is!

I went to 4 stores and found lots of cheapies and freebies—nothing super exciting, but most of it was necessity.

Target:

2 packages of ground beef, on sale $3.50/Lb, with $1.00 mark down stickers. I also used 10% off Cartwheel. Total: $2.25 each!

There were a bunch of other Cartwheel deals I wanted, but everything was gone.

Shaws:

2 3-packs paper towels, on sale $2.00. I used 2 $0.75 Manufacturer’s coupons (doubled). Total: $0.50 each! (I love to stock up on paper products when they’re really cheap like this.)

8 cans Chicken of the Sea tuna, rain check price $0.79 each. Total: $6.32. (A good price for solid white albacore, but this brand isn’t that great compared to Bumble Bee.)

CVS:

2 Shout, rain check price $3.25 each. I used 2 $1.00 Manufacturer’s coupons. Total: $4.50, plus I got $3.00 in ECBs.

Propel water, on sale $1.25 with a $1.25 ECB. Total: Free!  (So few people wanted this, it didn’t even have a sale sign at the store. After drinking it, I can see why. The taste is terrible! Think water with baking soda mixed in.)

Rite Aid:

I’m finally getting the hang of Plenti points, so I stopped in for a good deal on toothpaste.

2 Crest Pro-Health, on sale $3.00. I used 2 $1.00 Manufacturer’s coupons. Total: $4.00. I used $4.00 in plenty points and received another $4.00!

Super Savings Saturday – 5/30/15

Welcome to another edition of Super Savings Saturday!

We’re having a heat wave here in New England, but even 90 degree temps. couldn’t keep me out of the stores. I found many good deals and freebies this week, including lots of cheap cereal and baby items.

Walgreens:

I haven’t shopped here in forever, due to a lack of good deals. This week, however, was a gold mine!

4 Playtex bottles, on sale $3.99 each. I used 4 $2.00 manufacturer’s coupons stacked with 4 $2.00 store coupons. Total: Free!

3 Playtex sippy cups, on sale $3.99 each. I used 3 $1.50 manufacturer’s coupons stacked with 3 $2.00 store coupons. Total: $0.49 each!

Since the regular price for these items ranges from $6.49 to $7.99 each, this was a huge savings! I was at the store at 8:01 AM, right after they opened, and bought everything available. I wish they had more, because I have a bunch of extra coupons from a friend.

Shaw’s:

It was all about the cereal here!

6 boxes Frosted Flakes, rain check price $1.50. I used 3 $1.00/3 manufacturer’s coupons. Total: $1.00 each!

2 boxes Reese’s Puffs, on sale $2.00. I used 2 $0.50 manufacturer’s coupons (doubled). Total: $1.00 each!

2 boxes Cookie Crisp, on sale $2.00. I used 2 $0.75 manufacturer’s coupons (doubled). Total: $0.50 each!

Rite Aid:

Can I just say straight out that I hate the new Plenti program? I’ve made 3 attempts to link my Plenti card with my old Wellness card. It is still not working right (this is why I hate new loyalty programs)! My next step is to call corporate, but what a hassle! I’m earning Plenti, but not Wellness points for the meantime.

2 Colgate, rain check price $3.00 each. I used 2 $0.50 manufacturer’s coupons and they deducted 2 $3.00 In-Ad coupons. Total: Free!

GE light bulb, on sale $4.00. I paid $4.00 and got $4.00 in Plenti Points.

CVS:

Another rain check (see a pattern here?). I don’t like Playtex feminine products, but my sister does, do I’ll be passing this one on to her.

Playtex tampons, rain check price $7.99. I used a $3.00 manufacturer’s coupon stacked with a $2.00 store coupon. Total: $2.99 and I got $3.00 ECB.

Target: Free Organic Food!

Like to buy organic snacks for your family? Head to Target for this awesome deal!

Buy 4 Horizon crackers, 7.5 oz, regular price $3.49 each. Use 2 Buy One Get One Free coupons stacked with 50% off Cartwheel offer. Total: 4 free boxes!

There are two varieties, peanut butter or cheddar. I bought 2 of each earlier today and the deal works perfectly—no beeping! The cashier was shocked to see it, too.
