Welcome to another edition of Super Savings Saturday! I hope everyone is enjoying a wonderful new year. Mine is off to a great start; I shopped ’til I dropped and found tons of deals.

Rite Aid:

2 GE light bulbs, on sale $3.99. I used a $2.00 Video Values coupons, stacked with 2 $1.00 manufacturer’s coupons. Total: $3.98, plus $6.00 Up Rewards.

2 Herbal Essence body washes, rain check item. Total: Free!

Shaws:

4 Perdue chickens, unadvertised sale $0.69/Lb, plus $2.00 mark down coupons on each. Total: $18.86.   (There were a dozen chickens with huge savings because they were expiring. I froze half and bulk cooked the rest, which I’ll share in an upcoming post.)

Cuisinart 8-inch pan, part of a store promotion that lasted 3 months. I collected many store stamps and saved them up to get this beauty for free! The pan represents 70 which translates into $700! Obviously, you’d be insane to think that’s a good deal. Since most of the stamps were given to me, it’s fine.

2 butter packs, on sale $1.99. Total: $3.98. (I almost never buy regular butter, as I’m more of a Smart Balance kinda girl. I needed this for baking.)

2 &UP Ten sodas, on sale $1.00. I used 2 $1.00 manufacturer’s coupons. Total: Free!

Walmart:

3 Icy Hot pain patches, regular price $1.48. I used 3 $1.00 manufacturer’s coupons. Total: $0.48 each!  (Excellent for lower back pain.)

Yoplait yogurt, details here. Total: $0.25!

Target:

I went to Target twice this week, stalking the holiday mark downs. I was tempted to buy a cartful, but restrained myself to Hanukkah goodies and freebies.

2 Hanukkah craft kits, 70% off clearance price $1.50. Total: $3.00.

2 Ocello sponges, regular price $1.00. I used 2 $1.00 manufacturer’s coupons. Total: Free!

Bic Soleil razor, on sale $5.49. I used a $3.00 manufacturer’s coupon stacked with a $2.00 Target mailer coupon. Total: $0.49!  (I love to stock up on cheap razors! Their normal cost is outrageous and they will keep indefinitely in my stockpile.)

How many freebies did you find?

Super Savings Saturday – 12/27

a3

Welcome to another edition of Super Savings Saturday! (Can you believe it’s the last one for 2014?) It’s been an incredible year of savings, but the final edition isn’t the best. Not only is it a day late in posting, there are barely any deals to showcase! I wish it was more exciting, but I like to keep it real around here and post the highs and lows of extreme couponing. Some weeks are stellar, others, not so much…

Christmas week tends to have very few deals in general, and this year was no exception. It’s a lot of over-priced merchandise which I always skip. (The weeks after Christmas, especially mid-January, are amazing! If you want to stock up, hit the stores then.) I will be scouring the after-holiday sales like crazy, but until then, I just focused on a few freebies and cheap tea.

Walmart:

1 lemon, details here. Total: Free!

Silk almond milk, regular price $3.38. I used a free product coupon. Total: Free!

Vaseline aloe lotion, regular price $2.99.  I used a free product coupon. Total: Free!

Target:

2 Lipton green tea, details here.  Total: $0.07 each!  (No picture of these, because I put them in a holiday gift basket.)

Loreal mousse hair color,  sale price $9.99. I used a free product coupon. Total: Free!

Did you use any coupons or get any great deals?

Tea lovers, rejoice! We can score Lipton tea for $0.07 at Target with a new coupon.

Buy Lipton Green Tea Bags, 20-Ct, regular price $1.07. Use a $1.00 Manufacturer’s coupon. Total: $0.07 each!

If you don’t like green, any other type of bagged tea is allowed, too (no bottled tea). I love green tea best when it’s ice cold.

Super Savings Saturday – 12/20

Welcome to another edition of Super Savings Saturday. This was a great week, filled with many freebies and cheapies, including a rare deal that scored me $0.25 Victoria’s Secret undies!

Shaw’s:

2 Golden Oreos, 3-day sale price $1.99. I used 2 $0.50 Manufacturer’s coupons (doubled). Total: $0.99 each!   (Not a single cookie remains; Hungry Bear hogged them all!)

2 Honey Maid graham crackers,  3-day sale price $1.99. I used 2 $0.50 Manufacturer’s coupons (doubled). Total: $0.99 each!   (I’m hoping to use these as a cheesecake crust in the near future.)

CVS:

Fresh body wash, regular price $2.49. I used a free store coupon. Total: Free!

Rite Aid:

I was also looking for free Herbal Essence body wash here, but left with a rain check. I did find good deals on soap and medicine, though.

Excedrin Tension, on sale $3.99. I used a $3.00 Catalina coupon stacked with a $2.00 Video Values coupon (marked down).  Total: Free, plus a $1.00 UP Reward!

2 Ivory soap 4-packs, on sale $3.99 plus Buy 1, Get 1 50% off. Total: $5.98, plus a $5.00 UP Reward!

Lindor truffle, sale price $0.33. (I needed this for overage.)

I used $6.00 in UP Rewards, paid $0.31 and earned another $6.00!

Victoria’s Secret:

2 lace-top Hip Hugger undies, on sale 50% off for $5.25. I used a $10.00 Secret Santa gift card. Total: $0.50!

My best score of the week was also the most agonizing to acquire. I went to the mall last night, forgetting it was the last shopping weekend before Christmas (so dumb there are no words…) Only 1 register was open and about 25 people were in line. I waited, left, went back, left again. After 3 hours of window shopping, I was bored and wanted to leave desperately. Another 35 minutes in line later, I left with 2 pair of cute undies.

Since these are usually $10.50 each and undies are something I’ll always need, this was a great buy. The line was terrible and the customer service was worse, but I still got what I wanted.
