Super Savings Saturday – 7/22/17

Welcome to another edition of Super Savings Saturday.

This week was decent for deals, but nothing incredible, mostly stuff for the kids and some things for the pantry. I skipped my normal grocery shop because we’re going out of town for a short vacation to celebrate our anniversary (mind you, we’re already 7 hours behind schedule, but that’s a whole different story! I’m trying to stay calm and just roll with the punches around here.)

Walmart:

There was a ton of kids stuff on clearance for only $2.00 each—shirts, shorts, tops, and some onesies for babies. I ended up buying 7 items. Obviously, this isn’t great quality, but summer stuff never is anyway. Total: $14.00!

2 watermelons, sale price $2.99. Total: $5.98! (The average price for a big, seedless one is usually $4.99. Not sure why these were priced so cheaply.)

Shaws:

I had two freebies available with digital MyMixx coupons and also picked up a few cheapies.

Mom to Mom jumbo diaper pack, sale price $5.99. Total: Free with coupon! (This is a store brand that I’ve never tried.)

Philadelphia bagel chips & dip, sale price $2.50. Total: Free with coupon! (A few raggedy chips and some cream cheese. Not worth the money, so I’m glad it was free.)

2 Classico pasta sauces, sale price $0.99. Total: $1.98!

4 Cheddar Chex Mix, sale price $1.00. I used 4 $0.25 manufacturer’s coupons (doubled). Total: $0.50 each!

Super Savings Saturday – 7/15/17

Welcome to another edition of Super Savings Saturday.

Rite Aid was the place to be this week for amazing deals on oral care and cookies (funny how those two are both on sale simultaneously, I know). I went shopping on Friday, in between a haircut and a Starbucks run. Because I had enough store rewards to cover everything, my entire purchase was free!

Rite Aid:

2 Colgate Total toothpastes, sale price $3.50. I stacked 2 $3.00 store coupons with 2 $0.50 manufacturer’s coupons. Total: Free!

1 Oral-B Glide floss, sale price $4.00. I used a $1.00 manufacturer’s coupon. Total: $3.00 plus $3.00 Plenti Points!

2 Crest Pro-health toothpastes, sale price $4.00. I used 2 $2.00 manufacturer’s coupons. Total: $4.00 plus $6.00 Plenti Points!

1 Oral-B toothbrush, sale price $4.00. I used a $1.00 manufacturer’s coupon. Total: $3.00 plus $3.00 Plenti Points!

1 Tummy Zen heartburn relief, sale price $5.00. I used a $2.50 manufacturer’s coupon. Total: $2.50 plus $2.50 Plenti Points! (This is a new product and I’m curious to see if it can help my man. He has the world’s worst heartburn on a daily basis and has tried pretty much everything.)

2 Enjoy Life Cookies, sale price $3.29. I used 2 $3.00 manufacturer’s coupons. Total: $0.29 each with a $1.00 Checkout 51 Rebate! (The Chocolate Chip variety was pretty tasty, but I doubt that I’d pay full price.)

Overall, it was a great shopping trip, but I did have an issue with digital coupons. Rite Aid calls them “Load to Card,” and 100 out of 100 times, they malfunction. Because everything was free after points, I didn’t stress out, but it’s frustrating regardless.

Super Savings Saturday – 7/01/17

Welcome to another edition of Super Savings Saturday.

July already! Can you believe it? I have been having such a wonderful summer so far. Here in New England, it’s a HHH (hazy, hot, and humid) day, but the weather’s been decent overall. The bugs, however, are another story! It’s been an endless battle with ants, flies, and bees.

This week was a good time for shopping. Everything I wanted was in stock and the deals were abundant.

Rite Aid:

8 Glacier Isle water bottles, sale price $0.50. Total: $4.00 plus $4.00 Plenti Points. (As you can see from the pic, they were mislabeled. They rang up just fine, though, proving you can’t rely solely on the tag.)

Shaw’s:

Caramel M&M’s, regular price $1.00. Total: Free with MyMixx coupon.

Chloe’s mango popsicles, regular price $3.49. Total: Free with MyMixx coupon.

1-lb box of strawberries, Total: $0.99 with MyMixx coupon.

1-lb container of deli potato salad, Total: $0.99 with MyMixx coupon. (This was the absolute worst potato salad I have ever eaten—dry, bland, and swimming in mayo! Never again…)

Target:

2 Maybelline Colossal mascaras, sale price $2.98. I used 2 $3.00 manufacturer’s coupons. Total: Free!

3 Seventh Generation laundry detergents, regular price $2.99. Total: $8.97 plus $9.00 Checkout 51 rebate! (There was no restriction, so I bought the trial sized.)

Super Savings Saturday – 6/24/17

Welcome to another edition of Super Savings Saturday. This week was all about pet food. At two different stores, I stocked up on cheap food for the critters. Other good deals included free food, free lotion, and free first aid supplies.

Rite Aid:

4 packs of Band Aid gauze, regular price $2.79 plus Buy One, Get One 50% off. Total: $8.38 plus $10.00 Plenti Points. (Others mentioned on some deal sites that they received an additional $2.00 Catalina coupon with their purchase. I didn’t, but this price is good enough for me.)

2 Beneful dog food bags, clearance price $4.14. I used two $3.00 manufacturer’s coupons. Total: $1.14 each!

Walmart:

4 Aveeno lotions, regular price $2.97. I used four $3.00 manufacturer’s coupons. Total: Free!

2 Hood plain cottage cheese, regular price $2.89. I used 2 free product coupons (sent to me in a mailer as part of a promo). Total: Free!

Since we’re discussing Walmart, I wanted to mention that my store has discontinued price-matching completely. I always found it annoying and complicated, but I’m kind of sad it’s no longer even an option.

Petco:

Whole Earth Farm cat food, regular price $6.49. I used a free product with any purchase coupon. My paid purchase was a can of Friskies wet food. Total: $0.99!
