Super Savings Saturday – 2/4/17

Welcome to another edition of Super Savings Saturday.

This week was all about health and beauty products with a few cheap home décor items tossed into the mix. I was hoping to find more items at the Target clearance event, but there is so little I need. (Maybe I’m too picky? Or just too cheap?)

Target:

2 Garnier Fructis conditioners, clearance price $1.48. I used 2 $2.00 manufacturer’s coupons. Total: Free! (The coupons beeped due to overage and had to be put in manually.)

2 Room Essentials curtains, clearance price $6.98. Total: $13.96! (Bought to replace some paper-thin, decade-old, raggedy curtains in the guest room. Much better now.)

CVS:

Colgate Total toothpaste, sale price $3.00. I stacked a $0.50 manufacturer’s coupon with a $2.50 store coupon. Total: Free!

Rite Aid:

2 packs of Daylogic razor cartridges, sale price $8.00. Total: $16.00 plus $16.00 Plenti Points!

Super Savings Saturday – 1/28/17

Welcome to another edition of Super Savings Saturday.

This week was all about makeup—I was able to stock up on 4 eye shadows and 2 mascaras for free! Deals like this are why I love to coupon so much. Other good finds were cheap soap, snacks, and coffee.

Target:

4 Up & Up hand soaps, sale price $0.79, plus Buy Three, Get One Free. Total: $2.37! ($0.59 a bottle is a decent price for soap, especially since we were down to the last bottle.)

5 Oreo Go Cups, regular price $1.00. Total: $5.00 plus $5.00 checkout 51 rebate.

CVS:

Transaction #1:  2 Revlon mascaras, details here. Total: Free!

Transaction #2:  Starbucks Verdana bagged coffee, sale price $7.99. I used a $2.00 store coupon stacked with $5.00 ECBs from the first transaction. Total: Free!

Rite Aid:

2 Carefree panty liners, regular price $1.79, plus Buy One, Get One 50% off. I used 2 $0.50 manufacturer’s coupons. Total: $1.69 plus $2.00 Plenti Points!

4 Almay eye shadows, details here. Total: Free!

Local Produce Store:

Big bunch of bananas, sale price $0.19/lb. Total: $1.38!

Super Savings Saturday – 1/21/17

Welcome to another edition of Super Savings Saturday!

This was a slow week for deals. I did, however, find lots of cheap candy and it’s really making me want to break my diet. (So far, I haven’t had a bite…such willpower, huh?) The plan is to use it for Valentine’s Day, provided it lasts that long!

Target:

1 Threshold Tablecloth, clearance price $5.68. (The leaf print isn’t my favorite, but this is a gift.)

2 Emergen-C, regular price $4.49. I used 2 $2.00 manufacturer’s coupons. Total: $4.98 plus a $5.00 Gift Card!

2 Twix bags, clearance price $1.48. I used a $1.50/2 manufacturer’s coupon. Total: $0.73 each!

Rite Aid:

4 Snickers Crispers single bars, sale price $0.69. I used 4 $0.50 manufacturer’s coupons. Total: $0.19 each!

2 Big Win tissues, sale price $0.99. Total: $1.98 plus $1.00 Plenti Points.

Super Savings Saturday – 1/14/2017

Welcome to another edition of Super Savings Saturday!

This week’s deals mean a lot to me and I owe it all to my dear readers. By saving up affiliate credits, I was able to purchase a new microwave and slow cooker—for FREE. I can’t thank each of you enough! I enjoy blogging so much and I would truly do it for nothing, but earning a little bit of compensation feels wonderful.

Best Buy:

The microwave is a white countertop model made by Frigidaire that’s replacing an 8-year-old(!) Kenmore that had a broken turntable and barely worked. It’s much more powerful and heats up in a snap.

The slow cooker is a 6-quart programmable made by Hamilton Beach. My old one was smaller, only had a warm/low/high switch, and the stoneware was cracked after lots of use. Expect to see some new recipes in the near future after I’ve had the chance to try it out.

Food-wise, my best deal was finding a huge box of red onions on clearance at a local produce store. I’m not sure of the exact weight, but it was well over 10 lbs. Total price: $6.99! Only a couple were moldy or spoiled. We ate a few fresh with salads and the majority were sliced, bagged, and put into the freezer for future use.

I also picked up some reasonably priced produce: 2-lbs of zucchini and 3-lbs of broccoli for $0.99/lb each, 5-lb bag of russet potatoes for $1.00, and Gala apples for $0.88/lb. By shopping the sales, I’m able to stock up on lots of healthy fruits and veggies for very little cost.
