Super Savings Saturday – 1/07/16

Welcome to another edition of Super Savings Saturday.

This week I took advantage of the after-holiday sales. There were so many items, at such low prices, I had to restrain myself from buying out the whole stock!

Victoria’s Secret:

The semi-annual sale was super busy, but I pushed my way in and found my favorite undies discounted!

5 lace trim hipster panties, $3.00 each. Total: $15.00! (These are full-back, 100% cotton, totally comfortable and the lace band on top minimizes stomach blubber. Try it, you’ll love them, guaranteed.)

Target:

2 Good Karma flax milk, regular price $3.49. I stacked a 40% off Cartwheel offer with 2 $2.00 manufacturer’s coupons. Total: $0.09 each!

While I was very excited about finding such cheap milk, the trip was really all about finding toys. With prices marked down to 70% off, I cleaned up! Everything will go into my gift closet for future birthdays, holidays, and parties we’re invited to. I ended up spending $68.97 for 9 toys! The best deal was this $4.98 Mega Bloks.

Other items on my list were $0.05 Febreeze candles and free with coupon Maybelline mascara. Neither deal was available at my store, even though it was advertised on many deal blogs. (Clearance deals tend to be hit-or-miss, so I had low expectations going in!)

Welcome to another edition of Super Savings Saturday.

Hanukkah, at last! It’s been a wonderful evening of fun and excitement, but I’m also completely, totally, insanely exhausted! (I bet the rest of you are feeling it as well.) Between the crowds, the cold, and holiday prep, I had to simplify my shopping this week. I went to Market Basket for regular groceries and holiday meal items, then to Target for a few random deals.

I shopped late on Tuesday night, and while it wasn’t a terrible experience, it was still a lot more effort than I felt like expending, probably because I was price matching, using coupons, and using Cartwheel.

Target:

2 Mountain Dew 12-packs and 2 Pepsi 12-packs. The regular price is $4.99 each. I brought in my Hannaford flyer, sale price $2.50 each. I used 2 manufacturer’s coupons for $2.00/2 stacked with a 50% off Cartwheel offer. Total: $0.25 each! (Normally, we’re a Coca Cola home only, but these were dirt cheap, so I bought it anyway. If we don’t drink them, it will be a good donation.)

soda

2 Gold Bond powders, regular price $0.99. Total: $1.98, plus $4.00 Checkout 51 rebate! (Since there was no size restriction, the cheap travel containers were ok. I love moneymakers.)

2 Pillowfort flannel sheet sets, regular price $19.99. I used a 50% off Cartwheel offer. Total: $10.00 each! (The kids are crazy for “softy sheets” during winter.)

Welcome to another edition of Super Savings Saturday!

This week was extremely slim pickings. Since we’re experiencing record cold temps and lots of snow here in northern New England, that’s just as well. (When the weather is bad, I hate going out!) I made a quick trip to Market Basket for produce and milk, then stopped into 2 drugstores on my way back home. All told, the entire trip took less than an hour—a record for me.

Rite Aid:

8 Daylogic foaming soaps, regular price $2.49 plus BOGO. Total: $9.96 plus $8.00 Plenti Points! (We seem to go through a billion bottles of hand soap around here, so this deal was very welcome. The White Tea scent is not my favorite, though.)

I was also on the lookout for clearance Ban deodorant that would’ve been free with a coupon. My store had none left.

Walgreens:

I did multiple transactions after I made sure that the deal actually worked, ending up with 6 shadows total.

2 Almay eye shadows, clearance price $2.69 plus Buy One, Get One 50%. I used a $4.00/2 store coupon which the register adjusted down to $3.34. Total: $0.35 each!

Super Savings Saturday – 12/10/16

Welcome to another edition of Super Savings Saturday!

This week was a mixed bag. I totally struck out on a toy run, but had good luck elsewhere. Despite all of the endless ads, one-day sales, and holiday promotions, December isn’t really a bargain time to shop. Since I’m so well stocked, I can afford to be choosy. Still, I get so caught up in the frenzy of buy-buy-buy this time of year—hard to resist the temptation…

Kohl’s:

I read about some incredibly cheap toy deals on multiple deal blogs. I should’ve known better than to hit the mall during prime holiday shopping hours. I waited in traffic for 20 minutes, spent another 15 trying to find a parking space, had to shove through an enormous crowd inside the store and found nothing left on the shelf! Oh, there were plenty of items, but none of the super-cheap ones I wanted. I left empty-handed and very annoyed. Total waste of time/effort.

Target:

3 Spritz candle jars, regular price $5.00. I used a 50% off Cartwheel offer. Total: $2.50 each!

2 V8 Veggie Blends juice, sale price $2.66. I stacked a 40% off Cartwheel offer with 2 $1.00 manufacturer’s coupons. Total: $0.60 each!
