Can you believe it’s already 2016? So far, my new year is going well, despite the restrictive diet. Since I’m trying to be good, I did less shopping than usual even though I had some fantastic coupons for cookies and crackers. (Oh, the temptation…) I’m proud to say I haven’t cheated one time, even though the cravings are driving me nuts!

My favorite deals were $0.12 razors and $0.09 conditioner (cheap and non edible).

Shaw’s:

4 Kraft Zesty Italian dressings, on sale $0.99. I used 4 $0.50 manufacturer’s coupons (doubled). Total: Free!

Suave Kids conditioner, clearance price $0.89. I used a $0.40 manufacturer’s coupon (doubled). Total: $0.09!

Walmart:

I made a quick stop on New Year’s Eve to use a free product coupon that expired that day. As usual, the store was mobbed and lines were long, so it was annoying.

Zest Fruit Boost body wash, regular price $2.99. Total: Free!

Rite Aid:

4 Gillette Venus razor packs, details here. Total: $0.12 each!

Market Basket:

No special prices, no coupons, but I loaded up my cart with fresh fruits and veggies. I do think real, whole, healthy food is important, so I just bought what was on sale. Total: $18.77.

Welcome to another edition of Super Savings Saturday—the last one of 2015!

The day after Christmas is known for bargains at the mall, but I have also found many surprisingly good (and unexpected) deals at the grocery stores. I was up and out early today and found a bounty of meat and produce. Coupled with a bunch of free shampoo available earlier in the week, it was a bonanza!

Rite Aid:

4 Finesse shampoos, on sale 2/$4.00 with 400 Plenti Points. Total: $8.00. I paid with 800 Plenti Points and received an additional 800, making this a freebie!

Hannaford:

3 packages of ground beef, $2.79/lb Manager’s Special plus markdown coupons. Total: $5.85!

2 Frigo cheese sticks, regular price $0.49. I used 2 $0.50 manufacturer’s coupons. Total: Free!

3 onions, Manager’s Special $0.29/lb. Total: $1.12!

Green onions, Manager’s Special $0.25/bunch!

Shaw’s:

Just like Hannaford, there were many unadvertised specials on produce.

Sweet potatoes, clearance price 2/$0.69!

8 tomatoes, clearance price $1.00! (Winter tomatoes aren’t the best, but at this price, I’ll make do!)

2 Nestle Toll House chocolate chips, on sale $1.77. I used 2 $0.50 manufacturer’s coupons (doubled). Total: $0.77 each!

6 Schick Xtreme razors, on sale $3.99. I used 3 $7.00/3 manufacturer’s coupons. Total$2.97!

Hannaford:

4 Gillette Satin Care shave gels, on sale $0.79. I used 4 $0.50 manufacturer’s coupons. Total: $1.16!

CVS:

Glucose strips, on sale $9.99 with a $9.99 ECB. (I won’t use these, but I had a the ECBs to roll so it was free for me and I can donate it.)

Rite Aid:

5 Hour Energy shot, on sale $4.00 with $4.00 in Plenti Points. Total: Free!

2 Mountain Dew Kickstart, on sale 2/$2.00 with $2.00 in Plenti Points. Total: Free!

Crest 3D White mouthwash, on sale $3.50 with $3.50 in Plenti Points. Total: Free, plus a $1.00 rebate, so it was a moneymaker!

Welcome to another edition of Super Savings Saturday!

This week was full of good deals—something I really needed to off-set an otherwise crazy week that included an emergency vet visit, mice in our bedroom ceiling, an allergic reaction to a prescription and a bunch of other insanity…

My favorite deal was the Advil—guess why?! Haha!—but finding discounted food and free lip products is also awesome.

Shaws:

I found two food items on the clearance rack, due to slightly crushed boxes. The contents were fine.

Frosted Flakes, sale price $1.25. I used a $0.50 Manufacturer’s coupon (doubled). Total: $0.25!

Everyday Essentials macaroni, sale price $0.50!

CVS:

Advil film coat, 40-ct, rain check price $5.99. I used a $3.00 manufacturer’s coupon. Total: $2.99, plus $3.00 ECB!

Rite Aid:

2 Tic Tacs Mixers, regular price $1.69 plus BOGO. I used a free product coupon. Total: Free! (I would’ve bought more, but the store was out. I did get a rain check since the coupon is good until 2/28/16.)

6 Nivea lip balm, regular price $2.99 plus BOGO. I used a $3.00/2 manufacturer’s coupon. Total: Free! (Same as the Tic Tacs, not enough in stock or I would’ve gotten a bunch.)

Panera:

I had a $2.00 off any mobile order coupon in my dashboard. I used it for a coffee, regular price $2.09 and only had to pay the $0.09 tax! It was really nice to wake up to a hot drink for less than a dime.
