Local Produce Store:

5.19 LBs of nectarines, on sale for $0.50/Lb! (This was a great, unexpected find. Another store down the street was selling them for $2.99/Lb. It really does pay to shop around if you want the best deal.)

Package of garlic and a red onion, marked down to $0.69! (Only 1 head was bad out of the entire package. It amazes me what stores are willing to toss out.)

This week’s edition of Super Savings Saturday features deals from only two stores—Shaw’s and Walgreens. My shopping trips were condensed, but the cheapies and freebies abound!

Shaw’s: 2 packages of cherry tomatoes, on sale for $0.88 each (3 Day Sale). Total: $1.76!

Hellman’s Mayo, on sale for $1.99. I used a $1.00 Manufacturer’s coupon. Total: $0.99!

Lipton tea, regular price $1.39. I used a $0.75 Manufacturer’s coupon (doubled to retail price). Total: Free!

2 Suddenly Salads, on sale $1.00 each. I used 2  $0.50 Manufacturer’s coupons (doubled.) Total: Free!

2 Betty Crocker boxed potatoes, on sale $1.00 each. I used 2 $0.50 Manufacturer’s coupons (doubled.) Total: Free!

Walgreen’s: 2 Glad trash bags, on sale for $7.49. I used 2 $1.00 store coupons and 2 $0.75 Manufacturer’s coupons.

Clearance candy filler (not pictured because it was eaten), $0.24.

Total: $11.72. I paid with a $10 Register Reward, so my out of pocket cost was only $1.72!

The best deal of the week was the trash bags. I love being able to stock up necessities for less than a $1.00! As for all the free prepared food, that will donated. The tea will be served iced for an upcoming heat wave New England is supposed to be getting and the tomatoes and mayo will be part of a very tasty cold pasta salad.

Did you get anything for free?

Welcome to another edition of Super Savings Saturday! This week, I found great sales on produce, breakfast shakes, and some freebies at Rite Aid! Because I cherry pick only the best deals, I often come home with an odd assortment of goodies—all of which will find a place in my stockpile.

Rite Aid:  Nivea lip balm, on sale for $1.00. I used a $1.00 Manufacturer’s coupon. Total: Free! (Anyone need this? I have so much lip balm, it’s unreal!)

Puracyn wound wash, rain check for $10.00 with a $10 UP Reward. Total: Free!

Walgreens:  4 Kellogg’s To Go breakfast shakes, on sale for $1.49 with a $1.49 Register Rewards. This was an unexpected deal, because the Reward was rolling. Usually, you can’t get a reward if you buy an identical item, but this worked for some reason. Total: $1.49 for 4 shakes, plus a $1.49 Reward!

Local produce store:  2 containers of strawberries, on sale for $0.99 each!

2 celeries, on sale for $1.00 each!

Watermelon, on sale for $3.99!

2 packages of marked down peppers, $0.69 each!

The price of produce can vary wildly. I can’t stress enough how important it is to shop around. Another store was selling melon for $7.99 each and berries for $2.99 each. By shopping at more than one store, I literally save hundreds of dollars annually.

There was nothing I wanted at CVS and or Target, so I skipped those. It was a fairly light week of shopping, but I got everything I needed.
