Super Savings Saturday – 6/7

a2

Welcome to the first June edition of Super Savings Saturday! This week I found so many great deals—cheap chicken, free makeup, free food, and free hygiene products! The only loser was Rite Aid once again (nothing but Rain Checks).

CVS:    Colgate Optic White toothpaste, on sale for $3.00. I used a $2.00 store coupon and a $1.00 Manufacturer’s coupon. Total: Free!

2 Gelusil, on sale for $2.00. I used 2  $2.00 Manufacturer’s coupons. Total: Free!

Walgreens:    Almay lip gloss, on sale for $5.99. I used a $2.00 store coupon and a $4.00 Manufacturer’s coupon. Total: Free!  (Walgreens has adjusted their coupon policy and they will no longer mark down coupons. They did it for me this week, but who knows what the future will bring…)

Hannaford:   I ran into an unexpected sale on split breast chicken at $1.19/Lb. I bought every package I could find! Total: $19.02!

Target:   2 Wishbone dressings, details here. Total: Free after rebate!

2  Magnesium Citrate Oral Solutions, details here. Total: Free!

2  Market Pantry pastas, details here. Total: $0.38 each!

2  Johnson’s baby powders, details here. Total: $0.03 each!

By shopping the sales and using coupons, I accomplished quite a bit. The freezer is packed with chicken. I added more free toothpaste and lip gloss to my collection (at this rate, I’ll never have to pay for either again). The Gelusil and Magnesium Citrate will be on hand, if needed. The pasta and the salad dressing will be put into use immediately. Having a full stockpile really makes me feel happy and relieved!

Super Savings Saturday – 5/31

Welcome to the final May edition of Super Savings Saturday! This week, I was able to get many free items at Rite Aid with rain checks, dirt-cheap soda, and lots of yummy food for very little.

Rite Aid: 2 boxes of Efferdent, rain check $3.99 each, and BOGO. After UP Rewards were deducted, I paid nothing! Total: Free!

Puracyn foot wash, rain check for $10.00. After UP Rewards were deducted, I paid nothing! Total: Free!

Mucinex Allergy pills, rain check for $7.50, with a $5.50 Up Reward. I used a $3.00 Manufacturer’s coupons marked down to $2.00. Total: Free!

This is why I always get rain checks. Rite Aid allows 30 days to redeem them and that way I never miss a sale. If you’re frustrated by constantly empty shelves, rain checks are key!

Target:  I price matched soda from the Shaw’s ad and Hefty bags from the Market Basket ad, which saved me 2 additional shopping trips.

2 Diet Coke 12-packs, details here. Total: $1.50 each!

2 Hefty slider bags, on sale 2/$3.00. I used 2  $1.00/2 Manufacturer’s coupons. Total: $1.00 each.

Shaw’s:  I bought tons of sale items for a Memorial Day feast, with plenty of food left to cook/eat throughout the week, details here.

Did you get any good deals this week? I sure hope so!

Super Savings Saturday – 5/24

Welcome to another edition of Super Savings Saturday. This was a good week for me, with lots of deals—some of which I found spur of the moment. The only downer was Rite Aid; everything I wanted was out, so it was nothing but Rain Checks.

Target:  2 Market Pantry Reduced Fat crackers, on sale for $1.58 each. I used a $1.00/2 Mobile coupon. Total: $1.08 each!

Pink lemonade, details here. Total: $0.14!

2 Up & Up toilet brushes, details here. Total: $0.44 each!

Neuro Sleep water, $2.39. I used a free product coupon. Total: Free!

Walmart: Ground beef and Hamburger Helper deal, featured here. Total: $2.00 after rebate!

a1

Walgreens: I did 2 transactions for maximum savings.

Transaction #1: Coconut oil deal, featured here. Total: $6.00, plus an $8.00 Register Reward.

a1

Transaction #2:  1 Velveeta Cheesy Skillet, $1.99, with a $1.99 Register Reward.

2 Fiber Smart Natural Triple Fibers, clearance price $3.99 each. I used 2 $2.00 Manufacturer’s coupons. Total: $1.99 each.

1 Fiber Smart Chia Seeds, clearance price $3.79. I used a $2.00 Manufacturer’s coupon. Total: $1.79 each.

I paid for the Velveeta and the Fiber Smart with the $8.00 Register Reward, so those items cost me nothing out of pocket! (I added in a cheap candy for the overage and it was an exact amount.) Plus, I have $1.99 for future deals. Since the Fiber Smart is usually $15.99 each, I think it’s an awesome price. The crackers and lemonade will be good for snack attacks and the boxed food will all be donated. This is why I love to coupon!

It was another great week of savings! I got a ton of free toothpaste, free water, cheap eyeliner, and much more by shopping the deals and using coupons.

Rite Aid:  6 Colgate toothpastes, details here. Total: Free! (This is why I love to coupon. I buy ahead when I can pick up items for free and then I don’t have to pay retail. I won’t need toothpaste for the rest of the year now.)

Shaw’s:   Vidalia onions, on sale $0.69/LB. I bought 5.12 Lbs and used a $0.50 Manufacturer’s coupon (doubled). Total: $2.53!  (Rock-bottom price for sweet onions.)

2 rotisserie chickens, on sale for $5.00 each, plus a free bottle of Aquafina. Total: $10.00 for 2 chickens and 2 waters! (I love to buy these whenever they’re on sale, especially when it’s hot out and I don’t want to heat up my kitchen.)

a1

Walgreens: 2 Revlon eyeliners, usually $9.49, now clearance for $4.79, plus a Buy One, Get One 50% off sale. I used 2 Manufacturer’s coupons and 2 $1.00 store coupons. Total: $1.18 for both! (These are double-sided so it’s like paying $0.29 each for 4 eyeliners.)

While I was at Walgreens, I made sure to say hello to all the cashiers. Because I’ve shopped there almost every week for years, I’ve gotten friendly with many, especially the ladies in cosmetics. The Burt’s Bees and Dove were free samples given to me when I bought the eyeliner. How nice is that?! I really appreciated it and loved the surprise. Being a nice couponer is rewarding in many ways!
