If you enjoy reading magazines (and who doesn’t?), this post is for you!
I subscribe to many of the Women’s magazines, but I haven’t paid for any of them in years. You, too, can start getting mags for free. I’ve used all of these sites, with great success. Here are some good sources:
1. Rewards Gold
Many different magazines and some newspapers are available. Simply fill out surveys for free subscriptions. No credit card info required.
2. Recyclebank
Earn points by completing actions on the site and then redeem them for magazines. Both print and digital available. The points add up very quickly.
Redeem codes found on Coke products. Sometimes there are free codes online.
Hundreds of magazines offered, but you have to qualify by filling out a profile. Many business and trade mags.
Also, don’t forget about the library. Most have magazines to check-out, and some have magazine exchanges. I drop off all my old copies at the library for others to enjoy. Remember, freebies are best shared!
Which mags do you read and how much do you pay?

Hey, great resources. I’m not loyal to any particular magazine but I usually stick with a fairly cheap, reliable news source.
Thanks for your suggestions! Of the ones you shared, I was only aware of Recyclebank. I usually support a friend or neighbor’s fundraising efforts once a year when they sell magazines. I rely on the online articles get the rest of the info I’m looking for! Next time, maybe I’ll check out the others that you suggested.
I don’t tend to read magazines and I do not pay for them. Although from time to time I do enjoy having a copy of Real Simple on my coffee table.
Great resources for free magazines, and who doesn’t love a good read? You can also get the off free issue of digital magazines on the Itune newsstand.
I love doing My Coke Rewards too! So easy to earn points with something I am already drinking! I’ll have to check out their magazines because I have a few subscriptions that are close to expiring. My favorites are US Magazine and TV Guide.
I love getting free magazines! Most of my subscriptions are. I’ve used most of these options, but Recycle Bank is my favorite.
This looks like a great resource! I will definitely be looking into some of these. I currently read a parenting magazine and a photography magazine, both from deals from Tanga. But I’d totally be interested in something else for free!
I enjoy reading magazines from the library, but will have to check out the other resources you mentioned. I love frugal ideas so thanks for sharing.
I just use the library for magazines I want to read.
I love magazines! I get better homes and gardens for free right now. I would love to get a couple more. Checking out some of these leads.

We Three Crabs
I’ve cancelled most of mine because I don’t have time to read and don’t like wasting money. Thanks for sharing.
We generally subscribe to a few design magazines and that’s it. Great resources I’m going to check them out!
Very cool! I have a hard time finding time to read mags but love to during that down time! Cosmo is one of my favorites though!!
We stopped getting magazines because no one was reading them. We used to get Guideposts, All You and Reader’s Digest
Thanks for sharing your info. My husband gets enough magazines for both of us! They pile up everywhere. Maybe I can take them to the library?
Thank you so much for sharing! I love magazines!! The super idea of sharing them by donating to the library when finished is a way to share with other people as well as avoid clutter. In fact, we have a few to donate now.
I get free magazines by reading them when I’m at the library with my kiddos. I personally do not want magazine subscriptions right now. It would just be another thing to add to the clutter.
Oooh I’ll give some of these a try. I spend a fortune on magazines.
I started getting the HGTV magazine years ago and I really hate to admit that I paid for it. I really don’t like “wasting” money, but I find it’s my guilty pleasure.
i have to wonder if they would work for Canadians too? might be a good idea to look into eh? 🙂
I get free magazines already and I never read any of them. I used to save them thinking I would eventually get around to reading them, now I just give them away.
I do enjoy magazines! Probably a little too much. Unfortunately I don’t always get to them timely so I have a basket filled with reading material to catch up on right now. I’m hoping to get to a point where I can just sit down with a magazine again and enjoy reading the stories.
I used to subscribe to quite a lot of magazines, but have let them all lapse. I just didn’t have the time anymore and all they did was gather dust 🙁 All your suggestions sound intriguing though – I may have to start up again with one or two!
I don’t read many magazines, too many other things to read in books and on the internet.
I like to read magazines, but I don’t really like to subscribe to them. I have picked up some free ones at the library though! My favorites to read are ALL and Better Homes and Garden.
Great advices, super cool trick, gonna use some of them!
How frugal! Way to go!
Great ideas. I signed up for emails from discountmags.com and they email me when magazine subscriptions are around 5 bucks for a year’s subscription. I just wait for the one(s) I want to be in the email and snag a year’s worth for cheap.
Great tips! I love reading magazines when I have some time and free is always better. 🙂
Thank you for the sources. For now, my nephew’s school has got me wrapped around the finger with the magazines! It is part of their fundraiser for school 🙂
I’ve used Mercury Magazines, but never knew I could use Coke Rewards! When I treat myself to a Coke, I always throw the cap away! Not anymore! Thank you!!!
I love love love free and discount magazines. and I am a true magazine hoarder but I am a freelance writer so I find tons of things to keep me current in the latest of everything. I’ve gotten a few subscriptions for Rewards Gold and Mercury Magazines, and the absolutely free ones (or $2 ship/handling charge) I get when I purchase something that involves Bizrate. Fill out a simple survey about your shopping experience with a particular store, and BAM – you get to choose 3 freebies. I get things like All You, Real Simple, and then some health-related title. One of the places that offers it is Novica, Culinary Teas…those are places that comes to mind for that.
Good ideas! I tend to get free magazines when I register for races (Self, Real Simple, Runners World) and one I got from a friend who had a sharing coupon. Otherwise, I like to read them on my iPad. They’re cheaper in digital form, and take up way less space. I just read that our library is offering free magazine services from Zinio… will have to check that out!
Great resources for magazine readers. I stopped subscribing to most because they ended up taking up so much space. Prefer online subscriptions now.
Thanks for sharing. I used to love magazines, but now I find them piling up everywhere unread. Oh well.
Thanks for this info. I love free magazines.
