One of the most important parts of raising a healthy baby is making sure they receive good nutrition. That can be tough when little ones struggle with digestive issues. Personally, I have always used formula to feed and wasn’t picky about brand until I was confronted with a very fussy baby that spat up 6+ times daily! Like any mom, this worried me considerably and I consulted our pediatrician. He told me while it’s common for babies to spit-up while their digestive system develop, excessive spitting up should be looked into and be identified as GER (uncomplicated reflux), something that affects about two thirds of otherwise healthy infants.

Since GER may not be related to excess acid production and because gastric acid plays an important role in digestion and supporting the immune system, the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) discourages the overuse of acid reducing medications and recommends lifestyle changes are a first line management approach: burping more frequently, holding upright after every feeding. And a using a thickened feeding product like Enfamil A.R.™

Enfamil A.R. is the #1selling brand of formula for spit-up-clinically proven to reduce spit up by over 50% in infants with frequent regurgitation, while still providing the complete nutrition your baby needs to reach key milestones. Enfamil A.R. meets the AAP recommendations on reflux management and provides balanced nutrition and less hassle compared to adding rice cereal to formula.

Enfamil A.R. is available in two forms, standard powder and Ready to Use. The powder is prepared in the normal way, but it must be well shaken and allowed to sit for 5 minutes, then shaken again before feeding. Most of the time, I use the powder, but I love the convenience of they Ready to Eat, especially when we’re away from home or if Dad is making the bottle.

After using Enfamil A.R. for a month, my little guy has shown a lot of improvement.

The spitting up has been cut in half and he seems less fussy overall. Based on his experience and our pediatrician’s approval, we plan to continue with this formula through baby’s first year.
