Roast chicken is a meal that I make often, especially on Friday night for Shabbos. I try to vary the spices/marinate/sauce just to keep things interesting and I’m always on the lookout for new recipes.
One version I will not be making anytime soon—as in, not ever!—would be chicken and pickles. Seriously, this has to be a joke? Or maybe a pregnancy craving? Whichever, it looks downright revolting to me. I shared it on social media and the feedback has ranged from “Nasty” to “Must be a Duggar dish,” which I found truly hilarious. (Duggar fans know that they’re obsessed with pickles, but I doubt even they’d eat such slop.)
If anyone has ever eaten chicken and pickles in real life, please share. I am dying to know what it’s like and where it originates.
You might have just cost me my appetite for the rest of the week…month…year…
My deepest apologies. Truly disgusting, I know. 🙂
It does look very yucky. However, chopped pickles do taste good in chicken salad. So it could all be chopped up and add mayo and it would probably taste good.
I like pickles in tuna salad. Haven’t tried it with chicken but I can see the appeal if the food is cold. Hot pickles would be horrible!
Ewww, I have never heard of this dish. I know people put pickles on chicken sandwiches, but this just seems weird to me.
not sure what to think of this one. LOL
So odd, I know.
I loved reading your post made me laugh. But I think I would actually like to taste this dish I love chicken and pickles and wonder how this would taste.
No, I don’t think I would like that at all. It does look rather nasty.
I do like sweet bread and butter pickles on a lunch meat sandwich.
What do mean by sweet bread, like Hawaiian rolls?
