With Summer on the way, many of us are getting out the swimsuits and swim gear, preparing for warm weather fun. Those of us enjoy pools or going to the beach sometimes forget that water safety is very important!
It may be hard to believe, but drowning is the #1 accidental death in children ages 0 to 4. This is even sadder when you realize that drowning is preventable. We can combat these horrifying statistics by training individuals in every community to teach babies to swim.
One of the best programs available is PediaSwim, a unique course that can teach you how to be a certified swimming instructor, allowing you to help children develop a much needed skill that could possibly save their life!
PediaSwim was developed by Joy McGinty. She has been teaching since 1992 at SouthWest Aquatics, which is a fantastic facility in Florida. She works one-on-one, training individuals with her proven methods. During training, you will be able to work with children from 6 months to 3 years old, ensuring that you are competent to work with the special needs of babies and toddlers. The course lasts 4 weeks, meeting 5 days a week, allowing ample time to hone your skills and get comfortable.
Upon completion of the PediaSwim course, you will be a certified instructor, allowing you to return home and set up your own business teaching swimming. Instead of going to an office daily, you can hang out at the pool.
I think this would be an excellent opportunity for any mom who wants to make her own schedule and help children.
