Welcome to another edition of Super Savings Saturday!
It was a week full of deals, except at the drug stores. Can you believe I stopped into CVS, Rite Aid and Walgreens, and left each empty handed?! That only happens to me on rare occasions, and when it does, I have to fight my urge to buy something. I’m happy to report that I didn’t get any junk that wasn’t on my list and stayed on budget.
Hannaford:
9 Bayer aspirin, regular price $2.59 each. I used 3 $10.00/3 Manufacturer’s coupons (marked down to $7.77). Total: Free! (I searched at Target, Wal-Mart, and 3 drugstores before I found any Bayer. Because the coupon was such a high value, stocks everywhere were totally depleted. I ended up finding some in Hannaford of all places. No overage, which I would’ve liked, but tons of free meds.)
2 Rib eye steaks, on sale $4.99/Lb. Total: $14.58. (Normally, the price is $12.49/Lb, so this was a huge reduction. I’m always on the lookout for unadvertised sales like this one.)
Shaw’s:
Everyday Essential bath tissue, on sale $2.99. Total: $2.99. (A fantastic price for the large pack. I try to stock up at $0.24 a roll or less. I would’ve bought more, but the limit was only 1.)
2 Everyday Essential crushed tomatoes, on sale $0.77. Total: $1.54. (I like to keep these on hand for quick soups, stews, and chili.)
Edible Arrangements:
My favorite deal was a free pineapple pop. Due to being exceptionally overpriced and out-of-the-way, I’d never been into this store. I’m glad I did, because it was a fun time. The lady working there told me that walk-ins are rare and she was super friendly. The coupon was 1 pop per person and we got double (I took Hungry Bear along). The pops are a flower-shaped pineapple and cantaloupe combo. I have no idea what they normally cost, but it was a tasty treat for an exceptionally cold New England morning.
Did you score any freebies? Feel free to share in the comments.
It’s literally impossible for me to leave a store without something, whether or not I need it. Good job avoiding temptation. I spent $309 at Macy’s on stuff that’s still sitting in the car.
Anyone who has trouble with compulsive shopping should try couponing. I can shop every single day and spend little to no money.
OK, don’t take this the wrong way, but you are a lot younger and prettier than I thought. Maybe you post photos of yourself, but I havent’ seen one before??? Anyway, I thought you were around my mom’s age because of what you write about. Hope I’m not coming across as offensive here.
Being told I’m young and pretty could never be offensive! 🙂
Those steaks look great. You always find the best deals.
They were delicious!
Great deals…
Don’t you just love coupons/ I search everywhere for them… And try to only buy what is on sale and a big plus to have a coupon to go along with a good sale..
Judy, we think alike! I’m always hunting for coupons and printing them.
