Welcome to another edition of Super Savings Saturday. This was a great week, filled with many freebies and cheapies, including a rare deal that scored me $0.25 Victoria’s Secret undies!
Shaw’s:
4 Ragu Alfredo, 3-day sale price $0.99. I used 2 $1.00/2 Manufacturer’s coupons. Total: $0.49 each!
2 Rice Krispies, clearance price $2.24. I used 2 $0.75 Manufacturer’s coupons (doubled). Total: $0.74 each! (An amazing price for the big boxes.)
2 Golden Oreos, 3-day sale price $1.99. I used 2 $0.50 Manufacturer’s coupons (doubled). Total: $0.99 each! (Not a single cookie remains; Hungry Bear hogged them all!)
2 Honey Maid graham crackers, 3-day sale price $1.99. I used 2 $0.50 Manufacturer’s coupons (doubled). Total: $0.99 each! (I’m hoping to use these as a cheesecake crust in the near future.)
Walmart:
Earthbound Farm organic carrots, details here. Total: $0.49!
CVS:
Fresh body wash, regular price $2.49. I used a free store coupon. Total: Free!
Rite Aid:
I was also looking for free Herbal Essence body wash here, but left with a rain check. I did find good deals on soap and medicine, though.
Excedrin Tension, on sale $3.99. I used a $3.00 Catalina coupon stacked with a $2.00 Video Values coupon (marked down). Total: Free, plus a $1.00 UP Reward!
2 Ivory soap 4-packs, on sale $3.99 plus Buy 1, Get 1 50% off. Total: $5.98, plus a $5.00 UP Reward!
Lindor truffle, sale price $0.33. (I needed this for overage.)
I used $6.00 in UP Rewards, paid $0.31 and earned another $6.00!
Victoria’s Secret:
2 lace-top Hip Hugger undies, on sale 50% off for $5.25. I used a $10.00 Secret Santa gift card. Total: $0.50!
My best score of the week was also the most agonizing to acquire. I went to the mall last night, forgetting it was the last shopping weekend before Christmas (so dumb there are no words…) Only 1 register was open and about 25 people were in line. I waited, left, went back, left again. After 3 hours of window shopping, I was bored and wanted to leave desperately. Another 35 minutes in line later, I left with 2 pair of cute undies.
Since these are usually $10.50 each and undies are something I’ll always need, this was a great buy. The line was terrible and the customer service was worse, but I still got what I wanted.
Did you get any good deals?
Panties for a quarter? You must be some kind of math whiz. I had that same gift card and I only got $10.00 off a $215 purchase. I must be doing somthing wrong here?
Jeni, you’re not doing anything wrong. When I get a gift card, I look for the cheapest thing in the store that I need and buy that. Usually, I can find a freebie or another item that’s not costly. Hope that helps!
