Let’s call this the whole foods edition of Super Savings Saturday. I used very few coupons this week, but it wasn’t for lack of trying! CVS, Rite Aid, and Walgreens sent me home with a handful of rain checks. (It happens to every couponer, don’t get discouraged!) So, I focused on mostly grocery store deals.
Market Basket: 2 heads of Boston lettuce, on sale 2/$3.00. (Half-price at MB, but I’ve seen those go for $4.99 each at some stores.) Total: $3.00
Big bag of string beans, on sale for $0.99/Lb. Total: $1.19
Big bag of broccoli, on sale for $0.99/Lb. Total: $2.27
Shaw’s: I really cleaned up on markdowns. *Note for my New England readers: Try to shop early if possible. I grabbed up all these goodies at 8:00AM right after the meat manager brought out the stickers.
Whole chicken, originally $15.66, on sale for $8.66, with a $3.00 markdown. Total: $5.66 for an 8.75Lb bird.
2 Rib Eye steaks, originally $11.99/Lb. Each had a 3.00 markdown. Total: $4.91 and $5.63.
2 Skirt Steaks, originally $9.49/Lb. Each had a 3.00 markdown. Total: $5.16 and $4.40.
Target: Free bleach, details here. Total: Free!
Walmart: Bic razors, regular price $2.97, used a $3.00 Manufacturer’s Coupon. Total: Free!
2 Lave soap, details here. Total: Free!
Finish dishwasher tabs and Finish rinse aid, regular price $3.97 and $3.99. Total: $7.96, which comes with a full mail-in rebate (located in the 3/16 newspaper circular).
Tons of meat and veggies, free bleach, razors, hand soap, and dishwasher products. Not a bad week at all!
