If you’re anything like me, you love crunchy, salty snacks but hate the high fat content of regular potato chips. Because I want a healthier option, I’ve tried a lot of chip substitutes. Most are bland and unappetizing. Still, I keep an open mind and once you’ve had the chance to try The Real Deal Snacks Veggie Chips, you will too.
Made from real peas, real corn, and real rice, these naturally delicious snacks provide a serving and a half of vegetables in every ounce. (Talk about a great way to sneak extra veggies into kids!) They are gluten-free, Kosher, Vegan, and don’t contain any GMO’s.
They are green in color and come in 3 yummy flavors—all of which I got to sample:
- Original (Plain taste, mild)
- Sriracha (Extra spicy)
- Aged White Cheddar (Tangy)
Because they’re baked rather than fried, they have 80% less fat than regular potato chips, but taste and crunch is not sacrificed. (While I enjoyed all the flavors, my favorite was the cheddar; it reminded me of popcorn seasoning.) Being able to toss these into a Ziploc for an on-the-go snack is so easy and tasty!
Here in New England, The Real Deal Snacks are available at Market Basket (convenient and affordable). Around the country, they can be found in variety of retailers.
