Imagine a closed society that controls every move you make. A frightening world where people are brainwashed, beaten, sexually abused, financially drained, separated from loved ones, coerced to have abortions, children are denied schooling, and family members are encouraged to rat on each other to fake authorities.
Sounds like a horrible throwback to the Communist era, right? Guess again! It’s happening right now, here in America and around the world, according to actress Leah Remini. In an extremely courageous move, she is exposing the truth about what life inside Scientology is really like for those who are willingly involved and those who are trapped against their will. (Spoiler alert: it’s a living hell!)
Scientology and the Aftermath is truly riveting. Without fail, every episode that I’ve watched has made me cry. Seeing grown men hysterically sob about things that a so-called church has done to them is just heartbreaking. What could be even more despicable than the crimes committed? An organized terror campaign intended to smear anyone who dares to leave or speak up about what’s happening!
“Church” officials are constantly retaliating, with lies relayed to the media and more sinister things done privately. Leah and others are being harassed, stalked, denied housing/jobs, ostracized from former “friends” that they’d known for decades, and sued. By coming forward, they are suffering, yet their bravery and willingness to warn others makes it worth the pain.
Let’s be clear: those who do evil in God’s name are not righteous; they are monsters! This sort of manipulation occurs far too often, hurts far too many, and will continue on indefinitely if good people stand by and don’t act. Leah Remini is doing her part by drawing worldwide attention to the problem. If one uninformed person watches the documentary and then stays away from a Scientology Center, it will be a blessing!
Calling out the criminals is the first step, but that alone will not stop Scientology. The government must intervene to break up and bankrupt this cult, specifically the IRS who need to remove the tax exempt status and the California and Florida Attorney Generals to prosecute the many documented instances of credible abuse.
I am praying the victims will get the justice they so rightly deserve. Nothing can undo the damage, but having their good names restored and being financially compensated is a huge part of the healing process.
I have so much respect for those who are trying to expose Scientology.
Agreed, it is a horrible organization!
