If time travel was possible, would you do it? Should you do it? And, most importantly, what would the outcome be?
An interesting new action-adventure TV show, Timeless, tackles this thought-provoking topic. The series starts with a dangerous criminal stealing a secret time machine. Intent on re-shaping history, his goal is to prevent the Hindenburg’s explosion in 1937. On the surface, that would seem like a good idea—nobody would have to die needlessly—but changing the course of a single event could alter everything in the future—in ways we can’t even imagine… (Watch the pilot episode here.)
The fate of the world hangs in the balance. The only hope is an unexpected trio: a scientist, a soldier, and a history professor. Using the machine’s prototype, they have two goals—staying one step ahead of this dangerous thief and making sure they don’t affect the past themselves in any way (much easier said than done!).
Talk about intrigue and excitement, huh? With peppy writing, a stellar cast, and great plot twists, this show is fabulous. My favorite character is female lead, Lucy Preston. Portrayed by the super-talented Abigail Spencer, she is effective as a historian without being a know-it-all. (I really liked her on Rectify as well. Her range is huge.)
Competent and steady, but still vulnerable, Lucy will be relatable for a lot of women. With so much junk on TV, it’s refreshing to see strong female characters portrayed with successful careers. Not only is Lucy an empowered individual, time travel provides the perfect backdrop to feature lots of vintage fashions (check out the cool beret).
Tune in to NBC at 10:00PM on Monday nights to watch Timeless. Come with an open mind and enjoy the fantasy.

Hello, I was wondering about that show. Just heard of it last night. I like time travel shows and books. I was disappointed the show FOREVER was cancelled.
“Forever” was also a good one. I don’t know why the networks cancel the fun stuff.
