My “Love, Lust, or Run” Party

Big new for anyone suffering from “What Not to Wear” withdrawal: Stacy London is back! As a longtime fan, it makes me so happy that she’s returned to TLC in a new show called “Love, Lust or Run” that premiered on 1/23.

Some things never change, and it’s Stacy to the rescue, solving major issues for fashion disasters! Seemingly unaware of the impact their choices are making on their day-to-day lives, Stacy has random strangers rate their style as “Love,” “Lust,” or “Run.” Anyone who is deemed a “Run,” is made to start over from scratch. The women have to remove their over-the-top clothes, wild make up, and hair extensions. (Some are so god-awful, it’s hard to believe!) Stacy then transforms them into beautiful, updated versions of their best selves.

Sounds like a cool show, right? I wouldn’t have missed it for the world, but imagine my excitement in winning a “Love, Lust, or Run” party pack! Check out all of these amazing goodies it contained:

* Makeup Remover

* Head Bands

* Gray nail polish

* Nail files

* Mirror

* Paper Signs

I invited a bunch of my favorite girlies to join me. Together, we shared an awesome night of snacks/drinks, manicures, and plenty of gossip. We tried to coordinate our makeovers with the TV show, but honestly, we were laughing so hard and being so silly, it was tough!

Episode # 1 featured Tanika, a single mom of a young daughter that dresses way too sexy. A former stripper with an ex in jail, Tanika has been through rough times and was desperately in need of a makeunder. Stacy toned her down big time and the reveal was super sweet. It was emotional to hear Tankia say that her daughter could finally be proud of her.

Next up was Mika, a self-described “Post Apocalyptic Amazon Warrior.” (Say what?!!) Obviously, this lady was a “Run” in every way. Her look was not only unattractive, but downright scary. The craziest part was watching Mika’s mom hold up old pics of Mika’s cheerleading days. (Isn’t it crazy how hair, makeup, and clothes can change someone into another person?) After the punk rocker attire was removed, you could actually see the pretty, feminine person underneath.

While I enjoy “Love, Lust, or Run,” it’s no where near as good as my beloved “What not to Wear.” (I miss Clinton, Ted, and Carmindy so much!) Even so, I’ll probably keep watching since I enjoy Stacy’s wit, humor, and advice. I’m giving the show 3 out of 5 stars and the party pack a huge 10!
