Super Savings Saturday – 4/23/16

Welcome to another edition of Super Savings Saturday!

This week was crazy-busy with preparing for Passover. I had to do a huge grocery shop, mostly for full-price items (no way around it). I did manage to find some time to coupon, though. Deals included cheap toilet paper, medicine, and shirts. The only downer? The meat sale that wasn’t.

CVS:

Scott Tube Free toilet paper, sale price $4.99. I used a $2.00 CVS mobile coupon stacked with a $1.00 manufacturer’s coupon, then submitted for a $1.00 Checkout 51 rebate. Total: $0.99!

2 Radiance Calcium vitamins, clearance price $3.87. Total: $7.74, plus $10.00 ECB!

Shaws:

$0.99/LB split chicken breast and $1.88/LB ground turkey were advertised. Even though I shopped the first morning of the sale, there wasn’t a single package to be found. (The meat dept. manager told me nothing came in on the truck.) This put a serious crimp in my weekly meal plan. We ended up eating some frozen salmon and had spaghetti 3 times to use up all the pasta before Passover. Total: Zero cash, tons of frustration!

Target:

Mossimo T-shirts were on sale 3/$24.00 which could be combined with a 50% off Cartwheel offer. While I wasn’t particularly impressed with the quality (paper-thin and extremely low-cut), the price was reasonable. I’ll be using them as sleep shirts. Total: $4.00 each.

Dulcolax Pink laxative, regular price $5.49. I used a $2.00 Target coupon stacked with a $3.00 manufacturer’s coupon and a 20% off Cartwheel. Total: Free!

Did you find any freebies/cheapies?

What is a “cartwheel” discount & where do I find it? Also I signed up & have been using Creckout 51, thanks for that info.

As for recent good deals I’ve found; I entered a sweepstakes by Blue Nile jewelry, as a losers prize they sent a $20 off purchase code no minimum required. I bought a sterling silver hugs & kisses “XO” necklace for teen graduation gift for $15. Regular price $35, shipping was free & came in a very nice gift box w/personalized card. So happy with it.

The second good deal was also a ‘sweepstakes loser’ consolation prize. I entered through Snapperssnackcom & they sent me by mail 5 free product coupons each worth $6.00.

Wow, that necklace sounds awesome! Sweeps are so much fun. Cartwheel is a mobile App that’s used at Target. It can be stacked with printable store coupons and manufacturer’s coupons. The offers change frequently and many are for Target store brands. You can load 16 offers at once and the cashier will scan the bar code on your phone at checkout. When a deal has been used, it can be replaced with another. Sorry for not direct linking in the post, here it is: http://cartwheel.target.com/
