Super Savings Saturday – 8/30

a1

Welcome to the final August edition of Super Savings Saturday!

This was an amazing week of couponing! On Friday, I had a couponing buddy: my sister, Jackie! She and my “fur nephews” were in town visiting for the first time in almost 4 years! We talk/text daily, but it was so neat to see all of them in person. We gorged on a Mexican lunch, then hit the stores and shopped ’til we dropped. She had a shopping bag stuffed with coupons that gave me a major case of envy! I have never couponed with a partner before and it really does add to the excitement. I wish we could do this more often…

Target:

Trip #1  –  I went early in the week by myself.

2 Suave kids conditioner, regular price $1.52. I used 2 $1.00 Manufacturer’s coupons stacked with a $1.00 Target mobile coupon. Total: $0.02 each!

Colgate toothbrush, regular price $0.94. I used a $1.00 Target Mobile coupon. Total: Free!

Trip #2  –  Jackie and I went together. We didn’t snap a photo, but it was a great haul that included dog food, Brita pitchers, free lipstick, a striped shirt for her, bottled water, and Tampax. Total: $12.05!

Shaw’s:

2 Everyday Essential peanut butters, on sale 2/$3.00. I used 2 $1.50/2 Manufacturer’s coupons. Total: $0.75 each!

8 Chicken of the Sea solid white tunas, on sale $0.79 each. Total: $6.32!

4 Klondike bars, on sale Buy 2, Get 2 Free. I used 4 $1.00 Manufacturer’s coupons. Total: $0.75 each!

a3

Dollar Tree:

This was at Jackie’s request. I hate Dollar Tree! It’s almost all junk and whatever coupon deals are supposed to be in stock are never there. She was on the hunt for a Purex deal, but the coupons had expired. We left empty handed!

Hannaford:

11 lbs of ground beef, on sale $2.29/lb. Total: $25.19.  (This is the lowest price I’ve seen it all year. I bought a bunch to freeze. Forgot to take a pic of this one, too.)

a4

Rite Aid:

4 Cover Girl eye shadows, on sale Buy 1, Get 1 50% off. I used 2 $3.00/2 Manufacturer’s coupons, plus $4 Up Rewards. Total: $0.04 each, plus 2 $2 Up Rewards!  (I have so much free eye shadow, it’s unreal!)

How was your week? Any good deals?

Super Savings Saturday – 8/23

It’s Saturday, it’s Super, and it’s time for Savings!

This week was rather chaotic. Hungry Bear hurt his knee at work and we had to go to the hospital in the middle of the night! He has to wear a knee brace and use crutches—for an undetermined amount of time. He was in so much pain when it happened and it’s been really rough on my Bear!

In other personal news, someone I’m related to through marriage died unexpectedly at the age of 32. He has a 1.5 year old son and it’s truly heartbreaking. I feel beyond badly for everyone involved! I’ve been estranged from these relatives for many years, so it’s even weirder and worse. I’m praying everyone can find comfort (somehow) during this ordeal.

Ok, enough rambling…onto the savings! I only shopped two stores this week, Shaw’s and Rite Aid.

a4

Shaw’s:

2 Cheddar Chex Mix, on sale $1.00. I used 2 $0.50 Manufacturer’s coupons (doubled). Total: Free!

2 Pirate’s Booty Mac and Cheese, details here. Total: Free!  (This was out of stock for weeks.)

2 Super Chill soda, on sale $2.50. I used a $1.50/2 Manufacturer’s coupon. Total: $1.75 each!  (Not as good as Diet Coke, but ok for the price.)

2 containers of cherry tomatoes, on sale $0.97. Total: $1.94!

2 Premium Romaine salad mixes, on sale $0.97. Total: $1.94!

Blue Bunny mini swirl cones, on sale $2.99. I used a $0.75 Manufacturer’s coupon (doubled). Total: $1.50!  (Blue Bunny emails a coupon monthly if you sign up for their newsletter.)

a4

Rite Aid:

Zim’s Max Freeze, on sale $5.00. I used a $2.00 Manufacturer’s coupon and a $3 UP reward. Total: Free, plus $5 Up reward!  (Perfect timing for this deal; it came in very handy for the bad knee!)

When I write it all out, it seems like far less than usual, but sometimes real life gets in the way. Hopefully, next week I’ll find more cheapies and freebies, but this haul was still decent.

Did you find any great deals this week? Everyone is welcome to add them to the comments!

Welcome to another edition of Super Savings Saturday! This week, I found tons of great deals—especially at Rite Aid! I’m still missing Market Basket, but the couponing must go on…

Mucinex, on sale $7.50. I used a $3.00 Video Value coupon stacked with a $2.00 Manufacturer’s coupon. Total: $2.50, plus a $5.50 Up reward.

Final total: In addition to coupons, I used 2 Up rewards from previous transactions. I paid $0.41 out of pocket and got $9.50 in Up Rewards!

It’s so nice to have tons of free eye shadow, medicine, and cheap food. I will be donating the gel (plus 2 more I found in the closet from an identical deal last year).

Did you get anything good this week?

Super Savings Saturday – 8/9

a5

If it’s Saturday, it must be time for Super Savings!

What a whirlwind this week of deal-hunting was. I’m finding all of the grocery stores much more crowded, due to the ongoing Market Basket strike (3 weeks and counting, with no end in sight). It’s so weird to drive by Market Basket and see it totally deserted, save a few protestors, when it’s usually the busiest store around. I would love to see this mess resolved by reinstalling Arthur T, but until then I’ll make do.

Since I hit tons of stores, I was able to bring home bags and bags of freebies and cheapies. Here are the highlights:

Shaw’s:

Essential Everyday bathroom tissue, regular price $5.99. I used a $2.00 Store coupon. Total: $3.99!   (Anytime I can find this staple on sale, I grab some. Buying ahead on sale allows me to never pay full price.)

2 Clif Mojo bars, details here. Total: Free!

a2

Hannaford:

4 dozen large eggs, on sale $0.99 each. Total: $3.96!   (It’s rare to see eggs this cheap, so I stocked up.)

Walgreens:

2 Revlon eye shadows, details here. Total: Free!   (More makeup for the stockpile; at this rate, I’ll never run out.)

a6

Local Produce Store:

2 mushrooms, marked down to $0.99 each. Total: $1.98!   (I’m always amazed at what’s discounted. These slightly-discolored mushrooms were fine after peeling and tasted great.)

6 raspberries, on sale $0.99 each. Total: $5.94!   (This is the lowest price I’ve seen all summer.)

a6

Target:

Up & Up Allergy tablets, details here. Total: $0.10!

2 Vintage Italia pasta chips, details here. Total: Free!

Market Pantry pasta sauce, on sale $1.00. I used a $0.50 Target Coupon (catalina). Total: $0.50!

6 Up & Up index cards, regular price $0.50 each. I used 2 $1.50/3 Target coupons. Total: Free!
