Super Savings Saturday – 9/27

a4

Welcome to another edition of Super Savings Saturday! This week, I started the day many times at the McDonald’s drive-thru, getting free coffee. This helped to keep me alert during an exhausting time of Rosh Hashanah prep and shopping.

I found many freebies and cheapies by combining sales with coupons at grocery and drug stores. The only disappointment was Target; there were plenty of free light bulbs, but all the board games were gone!

Rite Aid:

Huggies Jumbo pack, regular price $12.49. I used a $2.00 Manufacturer’s coupon and a $10.00 Rite Aid coupon. Total: $0.49!

2 Listerine, raincheck price $0.99. I used 2 $1.00 Manufacturer’s coupons. Total: Free!

2 Neutrogena soaps. Raincheck price, buy 1 get 1 50% off, plus $5.00 Up Reward. Total: Free!

Target: 2 GE light bulbs, details here. Total: Free!

Shaws: 2 Marcal toilet papers, on sale $2.99. I used 2 $1.00 Manufacturer’s coupons. Total: $1.99 each!

2 Pete & Gerry organic eggs, marked down to $1.00 each. Total: $2.00! (These are usually $4.99 a dozen!)

2 Arnold breads, $3.99 and Buy 1, Get 1. I used a $1.00/2 Manufacturer’s coupon. Total: $1.50 each!

My favorite deal was the cheap Marcal; it works out to only $0.07 a roll!  I added yet another pack of Huggies to the stockpile (this is overflowing with diapers)! The eggs and bread were made into some delicious egg salad sandwiches. The soap and Listerine will be used in the near future.

Super Savings Saturday – 9/20

Welcome to another edition of Super Savings Saturday! This week was all about the diapers—some of which I got totally free! (By combining sale prices with coupons, I can buy many items for pennies.) I also found great deals on meat and free pens.

a2

On Wednesday night, Hungry Bear and I went to Uno Pizzeria for the Insider’s Party. (Sign up here to join the club.) We got to try samples of 4 menu items and take home goodie boxes that had coupons and giant chocolate chip cookies! I also had a Buy One, Get One free coupon, so we only had to pay for a single entrée, saving us $20.00 on the bill! (Steak for me, pizza for him.) It was such fun! We don’t go out to eat much, so it was a real treat at an affordable price.

Now, on to the savings!

Rite Aid:

I did two transactions so I could roll UP Rewards and lower my cost.

Transaction #1:  3 Huggies diapers, on sale $9.49 each. I used 3 $3.00 Manufacturer’s coupons  stacked with a $1.00 Huggies Video Value coupon. I also had an $8.00 UP Reward. Total: $10.47, with an $8.00 Up Reward!

Transaction # 2:  2 Huggies diapers, on sale $9.49 each. I used 2 $3.00 Manufacturer’s coupons and my $8.00 UP Reward. Total: 4.98, plus another $8.00 UP Reward and a $10.00 Huggie coupon!

a3

Staples:

2 Bic pens, on sale $1.00 each. I used 2 $1.00 Manufacturer’s coupons. Total: Free!   (These are usually $4.79, so it was a big saving.)

a4

Shaws:

Split chicken breast, manager’s special price $0.99/lb. Total: $3.69!  (I could only find a single pack, otherwise I would’ve bought a ton at this price.)

Chuck steak, $6.11, with a $3.00 markdown coupon. Total: $3.11!

Round steak, $5.89, with a $2.00 markdown coupon. Total: $3.89!

a2

Walgreens:

3 packs of gum, clearance price $0.11. Total: $0.33!  (Filler item.)

3 Well Beginnings diapers, on sale $5.50. I used 3 $1.50 Manufacturer’s coupons and 3 $4.00 Register Rewards. Total: Free!  (If you missed the sale, print the coupons for another. They don’t expire until December.)

Since diapers are one of the biggest budget busters, I was so glad to get these amazing deals. The steak and chicken were turned into yummy dinners. I added the pens to about 20 other packages I got for free last year! Ah, the exciting world of a couponer…

It’s time for another edition of Super Savings Saturday!

What a crazy week this has been. Between not feeling well, having my PayPal account hacked, and Pumpkin going missing for two days, I was not a happy camper! (Truth be told, I’ve been in a near-constant wretched mood and couponing was the only high point.)

I did find tons of great deals and freebies—especially at Target,  where I walked out with six items for nothing!

Shaws:

4 Barilla pasta, on sale $0.88. I used 2 $1.00/2 Manufacturer’s coupons. Total: $0.38 each!

Wild Harvest Organic milk, marked down to $1.00!   (These are usually $5.99 a gallon, so this is an incredible price! Always check the markdown sections at your store.)

Apple Jacks & Frosted Flakes, on sale $1.66 each. I used 2 $0.50 Manufacturer’s coupons (doubled.) Total: $0.66 each!   (Hungry Bear loves this junk.)

Target:

Garnier shampoo, on sale $2.99. I used a $2.00 insert coupon stacked with a $1.00 Target mobile coupon. Total: Free!

4 Greeting cards, $0.99 each. I used $2.00/2 Target coupons. Total: Free!

Tena liners, regular price $4.99. I used a $5.00 insert coupon. Total: Free!

CVS:

I did 3 transactions for maximum savings.

Transaction #1 – Jumbo pack of diapers, raincheck item. I paid $6.99 and got $3.00 ECB.

Transaction #2 – Nicotine patches, on sale $4.99 with $4.99 ECB. I used $3.00 ECB and $2.00 cash.

Transaction #3 – Mucinex 5-ct, on sale $7.50 with a $5.50 ECB. I used $4.99 ECB and a $2.00 Manufacturer’s coupon. Total: $0.50, plus $5.50 ECB for next week!

Super Savings Saturday – 9/6

It’s time once again for Super Savings Saturday! This week wasn’t anything special for deals, but I still managed to find a few goodies. The only washout was Rite Aid—all rain checks! I’m back to shopping alone and I really do miss my couponing buddy

a4

Shaw’s:

2 Kraft cheese, on sale $2.50. I used 2 $0.75 Manufacturer’s coupons (doubled). Total: $1.00 each!

2 Butterball turkey bacon, regular price $1.99. I used 2 $0.75 Manufacturer’s coupons (doubled). Total: $0.50 each!

2 Sauve shampoos, raincheck price 10/$10. I used 2 $0.50 Manufacturer’s coupons (doubled). Total: Free!

a3

Target:

Cascade Platinum, details here. Free after rebate.

2 Jennie-O Ground Turkey, marked down to $3.00. I used 2 $1.00 Manufacturer’s coupons (peelies). Total: $2.00 each!

a2

Walgreens:

3 Morton Epsom Salts, on sale $4.00 each with a $4.00 Register Reward. Total: $12.00 and $12.00 in Register Rewards!

The diapers were out of stock, so I had to get a rain check.

The shampoo and Cascade went into the stockpile and the turkey bacon and cheese went directly into Hungry Bear’s stomach! I’m saving the ground turkey for meatballs or burgers. The Epsom salts will be made into homemade bath salts—if I feel ambitious.

How was your week? Any Savings?
