This week’s edition of Super Savings Saturday was delayed because yours truly got food poisoning on Passover! Needless to say, it’s been a difficult few days around here. The culprit turned out to be hard boiled eggs. I’m always careful about food safety/handling, so it’s a mystery how it happened. Regardless, I’m just very glad it’s over now. I think it will be a looooooooong time before I can even look at an egg, let alone eat one.
Most of my deals were found at Target. It tends to be hit or miss, but sometimes I stumble on a bunch at once. I also found some nice mark downs at Hannaford. All 3 drugstores were a complete wash. By consistently couponing every single week, I’m able to stock up for very little and it’s ok if one week is off.
Target:
4 Up & Up sponges, regular price $1.04. I used a $3.00/4 Target Cleaning Supplies coupon. Total: $0.29 each!
2 Gold ‘N Plump chickens, sale price $4.50 with $2.00 markdown coupons. Total: $2.50 each! (My first time buying this brand and it was great. Very mild, tasty meat. I’d definitely buy them in the future.)
3 M&M candy eggs, on sale $1.00. I used a $2.00/3 manufacturer’s coupon. Total: $0.33 each!
2 Starburst Juicy Fruit gum, regular price $1.00. I used 2 $1.00 Target coupons. Total: Free!
2 Magnesium citrate oral solution, regular price $0.99 each. I used 2 $1.00 Target Digestive Aid coupons. Total: Free!
Hannaford:
2 packages of ground beef, marked down to $2.49/Lb, plus $0.50 and $0.75 store coupons. Total: $3.89! (I love it when I stumble upon deals like this. There were 6 additional packages and I would’ve bought them all, but another lady needed them more.)
2 heads of cauliflower, marked down to $1.25 each. Total: $2.50!
Did you find any good deals?
Join the Gold’N Plump e-club (https://www.goldnplump.com/join) and they’ll email you monthly coupons, usually for $1.50 off. I always buy GNP chicken from Target, waiting to combine a sale, Target coupon and manufacturer coupon. Do the same thing with JustBARE chicken (https://www.justbarechicken.com/join), also sold at Target in my neck of the woods. It’s a sister company of GNP. This past month they sent me a $2.00 coupon (printed twice) and I was able to get 2 packs of 5 all-natural chicken drumsticks for just $0.54 each. They have an organic chicken line if you’re into organic food.
Both websites also have a “promotions” tab where you can also sometimes print additional coupons or order freebies with proofs of purchase (shipping is free). Check them out!
What an awesome tip! Thank you so much! Just signed up now.
I don’t usually pay attention to prices when I shop, so I couldn’t tell ya. I am sure I caught a sale somewhere, though 🙂
I am absolutely terrible at finding deals. But then again, I also don’t pay much attention to prices, because I tend to be a loyal brand shopper 🙁
I am not really good at finding deals. I rely on people like you to let me know what to buy!
I hAbe stopped looking at prices except when it comes to soda or other high price items. But I always get soda on sale lol
You scored pretty well! I’m sorry that you got food poisoning though. That is awful!
I had a great deal on Friday for Head & Shoulders shampoo that I matched up with a coupon. And I loaded up.
Now you have me thinking that I need to head on out looking for some bargains :). thanks!
Food poisoning, yuck! Sorry to hear that. I am a bargain shopper. I love a good sale.
Food poisoning is the worst, and to happen over the holidays – even worse. I love seeing when other people save money – it’s motivating!
wow, those are a great steal…gotta love bargain shopping!
amazing deals! i need to get a lot better at shopping with coupons and other bargins. great job.
I do hope you are feeling better now. I love when I stumble on great buys; especially on normally pricey items.
Those are crazy cheap prices!
I also love to find cheap finds when I do the grocery 🙂
