“Unicorn” Puppy Born with Tail Between His Eyes

A 10-week-old Golden Retriever puppy was born with a very unusual feature: He has a TAIL growing between his eyes!

The little angel’s name is Narwahl which means unicorn. (Indeed the tail does look like a flat unicorn horn, so that makes sense.)

Technically, the “tail” is just a growth and it doesn’t wag. Luckily, the pup is showing no signs of health problems and there is no plan to remove it since no pain has resulted.

I’ve seen some comments calling him “deformed” and others that say he’s the cutest dog they’ve ever seen. It’s funny how two people can react so differently to the same image…

Truly, I’ve never heard of such a thing, but I think he’s precious. I hope he is adopted by a loving family. Maybe he’ll get a reality TV show from the notoriety!

I think he’s precious! How can anyone hate an adorable little pup? When I was younger, I had a dog who was an odd dachshund/sheltie mix and his ears stuck out almost straight. I thought his ears were adorable and his best feature. Also, have you seen Piglet, the deaf and blind puppy?

Always has to be a hater, I guess. Sad, I know. Your little guy sounds delightful! What was his name? I love Dachshunds, especially dressed up in hot dog costumes. (Super cheesy, yes, but I can’t help it.) I had not heard about Piglet. So glad you mentioned that. Deaf and blind and pink? Goodness, that is rare. I’m very thankful that rescue shelters and volunteers exist for special needs animals. In the old days, these babies would’ve been left out to die which is SICK. Looking different doesn’t have to be bad.

My little guy’s name was Romeo and he was such a lover. He also LOVED going on drives. We took him on all our summer vacations because he was happiest in a moving car. Did you see Piglet’s instagram? So much cuteness!

I am now obsessed with Piglet, thanks to you!!! He is amazing. Romeo is a great name. Did you ever think of getting a Juliet too? Dogs and cars are a perfect match. I love to let the little ones sit on my lap.

I’ve heard that over 100 families have begged to adopt him. That warms my heart. So many people are focused on the outside. It’s the heart that counts. He is different but not defective.

Sad to read that there are some people who would make fun for something a bit different, this puppy he is adorable. I hope he finds a family that will love him the way he is. I had a cat his name was Rusty he had his tongue longer than normal cat, & would stick out, a neighbor once made fun of him, & I told her she should be ashamed making fun for anyone (animal or people) because they are born with a difect. Rusty was such an amazing cat who lived for fourteen years.

Rusty sounds adorable to me! What a nasty neighbor to say that trash. 14 years is great for a cat. I had one cat that lived for 19 years, it was amazing. I wish our animals friends could live forever. They bring such joy to life.
