Scooby Loves #PetSmartGrooming

pt

This post is sponsored by PetSmart® and the BlogPaws® Pet Influencer Network. I’m being compensated for helping spread the word about PetSmart Grooming Salons, but I only share information that’s relevant to readers. PetSmart is not responsible for the content of this article.

The energy and enthusiasm expressed by an active dog is amazing. Scooby loves being outside, taking long walks at the park and the beach. The only downside is that he often comes home covered in grass, dirt, and/or sticky sand! I’ve tried grooming him by myself, but this can be a real hassle. Dealing with a fussy, squirming, wet dog is certainly not fun! Plus, it always took way too much time.

Needing a better option, I decided to try a professional groomer. After asking around for a recommendation, PetSmart® was the clear winner. PetSmart is dedicated to making pets look and feel good everyday, providing core and add-on services like grooms, baths, nail trims/grinds and de-shedding
treatments in a clean and safe environment. All salon associates receive annual certification and are trained in dog anatomy. They can recognize common medical problems and signs of stress.

Appointments can be arranged online or by phone, and depending on how busy the salon is, they usually accommodate quickly. (I booked on a Monday and we went in on Thursday.)

When the big day arrived, I was a bit nervous. Scooby is skittish around new people, so I didn’t know how he’d react. I informed the salon associate as we checked in. Immediately, she put me at ease by saying that’s very common and promising that Scooby would receive special care.

Both of the groomers couldn’t have been nicer! They were so gentle and patient with Scooby while he was on the table. He received a full and thorough groom, with extra attention paid to his ears, teeth, and nails/paws which get really grimy!

When they finished, I received a text alert for pick up. See how squeaky clean and happy this smiling boy was? He also smelled great and was very calm.

I can honestly say that it was a great experience—for both of us!

Passover Cleaning Resources

cl

The only thing I find more stressful than Passover cooking is the endless pre-holiday cleaning! Here are some great resources that simplify the process:

Chabad has a room-by-room checklist that’s incredibly thorough and listed alphabetically. The printable PDF version is awesome!

Aish has a Passover Cleaning for Dummies guide full of sensible advice like this: “Delegate to everyone possible, as well as hire as much professional help as you can afford. Now is not the time to scrimp; see it as a substitute for trauma-therapy.” (Seriously, don’t even attempt to be Superwoman!)

A Mother in Israel shares her Crisis Cleaning checklist. This is geared to strictly observant, but interesting, nonetheless. (Kashering a dishwasher? Hmmm.)

Being Jewish has a Beginner’s Guide that with an emphasis on how to prepare the kitchen.

And, for anyone interested, here’s a post about my own Passover cleaning method.

Gehman’s Country Fabrics: New Items Available!

Gehman’s Country Fabrics, my favorite resource for modest clothing, has just introduced new fabric designs for Spring, featuring gorgeous colors and flower motifs. The Country Rose collection is 100% poly and Mook fabrics are cotton/poly blend—both of which require little to no ironing! All are washable and fade resistant, too.

In addition to their lovely fabrics, they have many ready-to-wear items for women and girls. I’m especially fond of their slips. They make the only nursing slip I’ve ever seen that’s both functional and attractive.

Every item is carefully selected to meet high standards of quality, durability, and beauty. Their customer service is top notch and their attention to detail is incredible.

Anyone looking for fabric that’s both attractive and affordable has to check out Gehman’s Country Fabrics!

cottarbic

Welcome to another edition of Super Savings Saturday! After taking two weeks off, it felt so good to get back into my normal couponing routine. I found lots of fantastic deals on household items and personal care.

Target:

2 Cottonelle toilet papers, sale price $9.99. I used 2 Manufacturer’s coupons stacked with a $1.00/2 Target coupon and a 10% off Cartwheel offer. Total: $7.79 each!  (We’re having some out of town guests for Passover, so I wanted to stock up on extra toilet paper. There was also a sale on Scott brand, but my store was out, so I only bought these.)

1 Tide Ultra Stain Release detergent, clearance price $4.98. I used a $2.00 manufacturer’s coupon. Total: $2.98!  (My plan was for trial size Seventh Generation bottles that would’ve been free after Cartwheel. No luck there, but I did stumble on some good clearance anyway.)

2 Bic Soleil Razors, regular price $5.99. I used a $3.00 manufacturer’s coupon stacked with a $2.00 Target coupon. Total: $0.99 each!
