Super Savings Saturday – 3/14/15

Welcome to another edition of Super Savings Saturday!

This week was all about the drinks. Thanks to my sister sending me tons of extra coupons, I was able to find many freebies and cheapies. Normally, I only have 2 or 3 duplicate coupons, so it was a real treat. (I mainly use printables and buy 1 or 2 copies of the Boston Globe, which is a whopping $4.00.)

I shopped at Shaw’s, CVS, and Rite Aid, cherry picking the best deals for maximum savings.

Shaw’s:

There was a mega sale that offered 6 items for $1.88 each.

4 Silk almond milks, mega sale price $1.88. I used 4 $0.75 Manufacturer’s coupons (doubled). Total: $0.38 each!  (Regular price is $3.49, so it was a huge savings.)

2 Minute Maid orange juices, mega sale price $1.88. I used 2 $0.75 Manufacturer’s coupons (doubled). Total: $0.38 each!

7 Fuji waters, on sale $1.00. I used 7 $0.50 Manufacturer’s coupons (doubled). Total: Free!  (I consistently bring water with me whenever I’m out, which saves a trip to a drive-thru or overpriced convenience store.)

CVS:

I’ve been holding on to electric toothbrush rain checks for over a month. Luckily, the store restocked one the day before my coupons expired.

Arm & Hammer Spinbrush, rain check price $5.99. I used a $2.00 Manufacturer’s coupon, plus $2.00 ECB. Total: $1.99, plus a $4.00 ECB.

Rite Aid:

I’ve heard rumors that Rite Aid is discontinuing their UP Reward program. I really hope it’s not true. Without bonus bucks, drugstores aren’t worth shopping at! In the meantime, I’m stocking up on every good deal I can find, just in case.

2 Irish Spring body washes, on sale $3.00. I used 2 $2.00 Manufacturer’s coupons and $2.00 UP Reward. Total: Free, plus another $2.00 UP Reward!

Lypsyl lip care, on sale $1.00. I used a $1.00 Manufacturer’s coupon. Total: Free!  (I had 6 more coupons, but my store was severely under stocked. I did get rain checks for the future.)

Welcome to another edition of super Savings Saturday!

After enduring two solid months of endless snow and cold, I am SO happy it’s March. The weather is still cold, but hopefully that will be changing. I really want to get back into my regular coupon routine.

This week, I found goodies at all 3 drugstores, which hasn’t happened to me in a while. Plus, I found a great deal on marked down veggies and my favorite freebie came from Victoria’s Secret.

Walgreens:

Nutritional shakes, clearance price $0.89.  (Regular price for these discontinued shakes was $9.99! What a rip off.)

2 Jergens lotion, $1.50 each. I used a $3.00/2 Manufacturer’s coupon. Total: Free!

a3

CVS:

I did two transaction for maximum savings.

Transaction #1:  Reese’s egg, on sale $0.87 with $0.87 ECB. Total: $0.87!

Transaction #2:  2 bags of M&M’s, on sale 2/$6.00. I used 2 $1.00 Manufacturer’s coupons and $1.00/2 CVS coupon. Total: $2.13 after coupons and ECB, plus I earned $2.00 ECB.    (I used the candy to fill Purim baskets very cheaply, which was perfect.)

Rite Aid:

I stopped by intending to buy Simple brand face wash, but they were completely sold out. I did find nail polish on 75% off clearance, so it wasn’t a wasted trip. I left with 2 bottles and a rain check.

2 NYC nail polishes, on sale $0.25 each. Total: $0.50!

a3

Local produce store:

This particular store always has an assortment of marked down veggies on a regular basis. I bought two packages filled with peppers, onions, garlic, and a single potato. Total: $1.78!

a3

Victoria’s Secret:

Black Hiphugger panty, regular price $10.50. I used a free panty coupon and paid nothing.

Blue nightshirt, on sale $9.99. I used a $10.00 off any $10.00 purchase coupon. Total: Free!

I find most everything here to be overpriced, so I only buy items when they’re free or pennies. By signing up for the Victoria’s Secret emails and alerts, coupons are mailed out periodically. Another way to get their coupons is by signing up for an Angel credit card.

Welcome to another edition of Super Savings Saturday!

This week was full of more cold weather, but NO snow! After dealing with a storm almost every weekend for the past 2 months, it sure is a relief. I am literally counting down the days until spring.

On the frugal front, I continue to shop the sales and use coupons. This allows me to build up my stockpile at a very minimal cost, and sometimes it’s even free. I didn’t make a lot of stops, but found many good items like cheap snacks, veggies, and meat!

a2

Shaw’s:

The majority of my deals were found here. The snacks are already gone, yet the veggies remain (amazing how that happens, huh?)

6 Quaker Pop Chips, on sale $1.00. I used 3 $1.00/2 manufacturer’s coupons. Total: $0.50 each!  (I’m really not crazy about these, but my guy loves the sweet chili.)

4 Everyday Essential veggies, on sale $1.00. I used 2 $1.00/2 manufacturer’s coupons. Total: $0.50 each!   (I try to always keep frozen veggies in the freezer for last minute dinners.)

Season chicken legs, on sale $4.08 with a $2.00 mark down coupon. Total: $2.08!

Thin sliced Rib Eye steaks, on sale $9.36 with a $3.00 mark down coupon. Total: $6.36!

a7

Starbucks:

On Wednesday morning, I used a coupon for a free breakfast sandwich. I created my own option with egg and turkey bacon on an English muffin. Everything on the menu was covered in cheese and I definitely didn’t want anything heavy/greasy so early. The sandwich was tasty, and I always love a freebie, but it’s not worth $3.75!

a2

Staples:

Green reusable bag, free with coupon.

Walgreens:

2 butterball turkey bacon, on sale $1.29. I used 2 $0.75 manufacturer’s coupons. Total: $0.54 each!

Super Savings Saturday – 2/21

a3

Welcome to another edition of Super Savings Saturday—a weekly feature where I share my best deals and freebies.

It was a very light week of shopping around here. Due to the endless snow, cold, and wind, I’m limiting my trips for the time being. (It’s so hard to get around right now and the parking is insane!) I stopped into Market Basket for staples—chicken, veggies, fruit, and bread—and make two quick stops at Rite Aid and CVS. In my area, those drugstores are across the street from each other, so it’s super convenient. I skipped the rest of my usual run. Winter doesn’t usually bring me down, but this one has been a nightmare.

CVS:

Cucumber melon softsoap, rain check price $0.88. I used a $0.35 Manufacturer’s coupon. Total: $0.53!  (I prefer foaming pumps, but these are ok as a back up. The scent is delicious.)

a4

Rite Aid:

2 Irish spring body wash, details here. Total: Free!

2 Stayfree maxi pads, on sale $3.00 each. I used 2 $1.00 manufacturer’s coupons. Total: $4.00, plus $4.00 in UP Rewards!

2 Vaseline lotions, on sale $2.99 each. I used 2 $1.00 manufacturer’s coupons. Total: $3.98, plus $4.00 in UP Rewards!

2 Glade scented warmers. I used 2 $1.00 manufacturer’s coupons. Total: Free, plus I submitted a $1.00 rebate for a moneymaker!

Assorted Valentine’s candy, 75% off. Total: $2.64! (Not pictured because a very hungry bear ate it all in the car before I could snap a photo, and no, I didn’t get any…)
